2025 Rivian R1T - Large. Delivered on November 23, 2024.

We have a Gen2 R1T.
  • Under the security settings, I am defined as the OWNER, my husband defined as the DRIVER.
  • Both have separate card keys. Both use PaaK; mine is and Android phone, his is an Apple iPhone 14.
  • Both phones are running updated phone apps.
    • About a week ago while running errands I started to get pop-up messages that his iPhone needed to be defined as a PaaK. Okay. I had that issue with an old Android phone; back then, put my card key in the center console, delete the Paak from the app, delete the Rivian from the Bluetooth and start over again.

Did all that on the iPhone. Deleted the PaaK, deleted the Bluetooth entries for Rivian.
  • Took his card key
  • Opened the Rivian.
  • Put his key in the tray to activate the R1T.
  • I verified his card key is highlighted on the security screen.
  • Opened the iPhone app.
  • Hit "Define this device as a key"... and it did, but it assigns it to MY owner profile on the Rivian. Tried different sequences, rebooted the R1T, etc. Still keeps defining to my profile (my phone was nowhere near the R1T).

Now... the R1T JUST got updated to 2025.38.0 like an hour ago (after he left for work). Will try again tonight, but... did I miss a step along the way? The only thing I did not do was uninstall and reinstall the Rivian app on the iPhone.

Not sure about.Gen 2, but on Gen 1 when I had. PAAK issue I sat in the truck with just my Owner phone, no key card in the console, and did the deletes. Then from my Owner phone I went to Security -> Keys and hit the Share Vehicle button at the bottom of the screen. Then send the invite.

BTW it looks like, from the same screen, instead of sending the invite you can also assign a key to a different profile. You might try that before doing the deletes.

Thank you! I will give that a try! I... have a vague recollection of doing something like that the day we took delivery of the R1T.

Fixed!

I discovered that the Rivian app on his phone was logged into my account, which is why it kept adding to... my account. Swapped it over to his account, sent him the link to R1T invite, and everything aligned.

Item resolved.
