Love, love, love that I can plug and charge now at Electrify America. No more app, no more guessing what # charger I was at. It just works.

Have a couple options in town to fast charge, E.A. is the closest one to my shop. I'm happy I can plug and go.

Just a Thank You to Rivian for giving me a great feature. Now work on the rest of them ;-)

It doesn't. It acts just like Tesla - you have to initiate in the EA app first.

Whenever I've used EA, its always been plugin first then tap phone or use app to get membership (or tap card). Sounds like this won't give us a chance for member rate or preferred credit card. ??

This was what I'm trying to figure out too. It's been 9 months since I've been to EA, but I remember having to plug in before initiating. Which doesn't seem like it will work.

Hopefully someone here tries it and reports back.

Plug & Charge as implemented by Rivian and Hyundai is similar in that it uses the credit card info stored in respective apps. So memberships and other credit card options are ignored. But the beauty is that you never have to touch your phone at all. You plug it in and walk away. It doesn’t need any input from you, not from your phone or the touch screen on charging stalls.

Before Plug & Charge update, you’re right, initiating in app like Tesla or EA is necessary. Now you don’t. Just plug it in and walk away. I tested couple times successfully at both V3 and V4 Tesla superchargers but not at EA yet. When I do, I’ll report here.

You can do it like Tesla, use the app to start the charge then plug in. EA says plug in first but you do not have to, I never did when I was using the App.

Sorry but EA has never worked app-first for me. I will be emailing EA (Rivian contact form from above page says I have to call, which has never helped me), but also eagerly await a real user report of it working...
What does this mean? "Never" as in never ever, or "never" as in since the OTA update?

EA has *always* worked app-first for me, for three years now. I have not tried using membership app-first with plug-and-charge since I got the OTA update yesterday.

Never ever for me. NFC tap first never worked either, or credit card tap first (as a guest); station screens always say plug in first. I too have not yet tried since the update.

What are you doing here with proving facts and links vs just speculating? :CWL:
That's not a "fact" in my experience. In fact, in the official EA app, under Support > Learn How to Charge, the first step is Park and Plug In. Still waiting for a real report of circumventing plug and charge.
