The left side of my display behind the steering wheel no longer shows information. I used to be able to toggle between tire-pressure, Nav, and entertainment by holding the left side steering wheel button for a couple of seconds--is there a way to turn this on and off? It disappeared on a recent road trip.

Do an infotainment system restart - press and hold the outermost buttons on each side of the steering wheel (furthest left & furthest right) until you stop hearing chimes. Let things come back fully.

See the "Troubleshooting and Help" section of the owner's manual for your vehicle, the most recent of which can be found at these links (and in the vehicle itself):

Like @VandalSibs said, but you'll need to look for 'restart the software' if you are searching the manual.

Glad it’s worked out for you. I think the screen you’re talking about is usually called instrument display. Heads-up display usually refers to transparent projection onto windshield.
Mike Kantorski called it that in a you tube I watched this AM to figure it out. It sounded odd to me, but I assumed he knew. The manual actually refers to it as the driver’s display. I wish my Rivian had a proper heads up display!
