Very true !!!

I will say though, that if you are in that position, the Comma 3x has a pretty good resale value too. I see them sell between $400-$600 . If you have a harness to go with, they go more towards the $600 if it is a car that someone is looking for one for.

No, because it uses it's own vision system along with internal sensors/radar.

I thought the Comma 3x was going to be large piece of real estate in my view, but honestly, it doesn't bother me at all. I think I've only caught myself having to look around it once and that was not really for driving. The new 4 is sooooo much smaller too.

Ideally, you want to mount it center in the vehicle. You can mount it offset and it will compensate automatically, but it can prove to cause alignment issues on corners and such. If you were willing to try it, I suppose it could mount behind where the visor would be if down next to the oem camera housing and it would be mostly hidden.

Good point. I didn't even think of it that way. I have a Comma2 in a drawer to trade if I decide to upgrade. I know it's nearly worthless on the resale market now lol.

You never know, give it 10 years and it might be worth something to a collector...

The errors are rare, not everyone gets them. There are steps to mitigate them as well as long as folks ask or look for the answers.

You sound like you are fine with the Driver+ system and that is your choice. Those of us running the Comma have found it to be superior in many ways - mostly being able to use it anywhere, not just where Rivian wants you to. The D+ system will not be getting any improvements in features. The Comma gets you a similar experience to Gen 2 (actually a little better currently) without having to spend another $30k-120k...... (trade to new)

The Rivian Comma community has grown to nearly 3000 users and there has been no discernible uptick in people reporting any "odd issues". Meanwhile, Rivian Comma users are experiencing one of the best hands-free ADAS experiences on the market at a fraction of the cost of anything else that's out there.

Just bear in mind that that is the 3X being installed. The Comma 4 will be the same process, just a smaller device.
