Trying to set my current home location in my 2025 R1T. Can set to my current GPS coordinates, but the Rivian sets it to a location 250 feet away from my actual location. This is a problem when setting proximity lock/unlock at home. Rivian is using Goggle Maps to set home location. My home location description using Google is a condo complex that does not exist (Bear Cave). I cannot change the name of this Goggle provided location. The incorrect GPS coordinates are in the middle of a street outside my RV resort (park homes). The streets inside my park are mapped by Google, but individual homes (over 400) are not mapped.

You can edit location details in Google Maps. New additions seem to be very quickly resolved, but modifications can take some time.

Did that. I am not holding my breath. Still begs the question, why is the GPS location 250 feet from my actual location?

250 feet is a large error for GPS, but its plausible. There could be several reasons. You could be receiving reflected signals from one or more directions in your locations. Everyone knows GPS needs a clear view of the sky, but it's not so commonly known that it has problems with interference from reflected signals--called multipath distortion. Map software tries to adjust your location toward what it "knows" about the terrain. If you seem to be near a street, it moves your location to a street. Likewise, it guesses your address. It is possible that the map is not locally accurate. There can be issues with surveys. I had a Garmin that had a (USGS based) map that was displaced more than 100 feet in my neighborhood. GPS measures location on a cartesian coordinate (XYZ) system then converts it to latitude and longitude based on a model of the shape of the earth, which is not really spherical, especially locally--think hills. Errors happen especially if the GPS and the street survey use different models. An unfortunate combination of local issues can create a noticeable discrepancy in location.

Have not noticed that. The Rivian displays my truck's location properly (blue chevron/arrow) and gives GPS coordinate numbers, but it appears to place my home at a location Google Maps selected. A place that currently does not exist. Google contacted. Why can't Rivian just register my exact GPS location and have the ability to edit the description from GPS number to suitable text.

Are you trying to change your "Home" location in Google Maps (on your phone or computer) or in the vehicle itself? Because I'm 99.9% sure that the "Home" location in your Rivian is NOT linked to any data that Google has.

Trying to change home location in the Rivian. Navigation, press Favorites(star), Edit (pencil). The location Rivian is selecting is coming from Google Maps. Location is not correct and does not exist.

This might be extreme, but I wonder what would happen if you cleared out you Home location from Google, then set it manually in the Rivian, then set it back up in Google...

I dealt with this same issue. My actual house/garage is approx 1/4 mile from the street. In 2022 when I got the truck there was no fix, then Rivian updated to allow GPS coordinates instead of a street address. The transition to Google Maps earlier this year threw it off again. I could set to current location as GPS coordinates and it would immediately revert to a street address. I have no idea how, but after deleting and resetting a couple of times, it retained the correct location. When I navigate to Home now, it’s listed as a set of GPS coordinates instead of a street address. I don’t have a workaround to suggest other than clearing and trying again for a few days

My Rivian does not use the numeric GPS (did display it for a second), but Google's best guess address. My address number is 555, Google is 199 (street name is the same). But the Google location does not exist any more. So my home address in the Rivian is listed as Bear Cave. 250 feet from my actual location.
