This is great news! I will also test my truck later today (I have been out of town) and will validate if mine is the same as yours. I am sure it is.Prior to the update the sub on my Gen2 R1S w/ premium audio was out of phase. This was verified by both audio analyzing software and by removing the speaker grill and seeing that the 10" speaker pushed in with signal instead of pushing outward. AFTER the update the polarity of the sub has changed and it now pushes out with signal and at least in my vehicle sounds way better at the drivers position. 2 other speakers also appear to have changed polarity with the update although that is just based on the analyzation software. One is on passenger side of the dash and the other the speaker above the passenger door. Previously it was difficult for me to hear any sound coming out of the speakers above the doors but now all of the speakers seem to be working much better in harmony. It also seems to me that they may have changed the overall comparative level of the center speaker on the dash and the result is a much wider stereo field. Overall it now sounds fantastic in my vehicle at least in the front seats. I'll have to jump in the 2nd and 3rd rows today and see how it affected the sound at those positions.
I also have a Gen 2 without the premium audio but the update has not come through for it yet so I don't know how the sound was affected in it.
What I found before is the front door speakers were out of phase with the rear speakers. The rear doors and subwoofer were in phase with each other, but out of phase with the front door speakers. It was also easy to confirm by listening to the bass level.
Put your head down near the floor at the center console, directly between the front door speakers and the bass gets stronger. Sit up so you can hear the rear speakers and the bass washes out. That should not happen if they are in phase. In phase, the bass should stay the same or get stronger when you sit up. Physics.
