I am trying to gauge what the real-world tire wear on the DM G2's are seeing. I have a friend with an R1S G2 DM that goes through front tires every 5-7k miles. Also Kyle from OOSR has brough this topic up but never mentions actual numbers. Is this the reality with the DM? I currently have a QM G1 and will get 45k out of my tires. Was considering adding a G2 DM and wanted to hear from real owners what they are actually seeing.

What the unholy heck is your friend's driving style? Constantly doing burnouts?

That was my question... What have you seen in your DM? I wish that the AP mode on the DM worked like it does on the quad...

I've got a gen 1 so things are a little different (21" wheels), but I'm still on the original tires at 14.8k miles. Includes some time towing, and a decent amount of freeway driving.

I got ~20K out of the 21" OEM Pirellis that weren't made for longevity, but a cost for being OEM. Switched to 21" Michelin Defenders, a clearly better tire for longevity and noise.

I have a gen2 dual motor and noticed excessive wear on the inside corners of the tires due to the rear wheels being toed out and a lot of negative camber on each corner. The service center improved the alignment but I feel like the 1.5 degrees of camber is a bit much. I also don't drive in low anymore, even on road trips.

We have had terrible front right wear on both dual motor gen 2 and tri motor gen 2 - alignment is obv way off. I wonder if it has anything to do with single front motor on both?

Both vehicles chewed through 1 tire in ~ 8k mi, which obviously necessitated replacing a pair of front tires (on both vehicles). I’m kicking myself for not paying closer attention.

Dual motor in for service and they agreed to do an alignment free of charge (I already spent nearly $1500 on a pair of tires). The Tri motor needs to go in, too - now that new tires are on there, I can feel the pull to the right pretty severely.

Local tire shop is gunshy about alignment - last one they did, something was way off and had to go right to sc. something to do with a calibration?

Question related to the G2's are they all on 22's?

I had 20 inch OEM AT Perellis, I was about 14k miles in when I got a nail in one and replaced all 4 because the road noise was so loud already, but was probably about half the wear left. Now have the goodyear 20" ATs and have 3.5k miles on them. They look more worn already than I expected, but still a good amount of tread and are whisper quiet compared to the OEM. I'm hoping for 20k miles. I also use high regen and rarely need to use the brake pedal, but am a pretty mild driver overall.

Exactly like with an ICE vehicle, if you're chewing up tires you either have a mechanical issue with your vehicle or your driving is abusing the tires. Or both.

I got 30k+ on my perellis and that was with only one rotation. Really bad inside wear on the rear or else I would have risked them for the winter. I had an alignment anyway when I switched to the Michelins.

G2 R1T 22k and the original tires are fine. Guessing replacement 40-50k for me. I rotate them every 7500. 22 inch range wheels.

20” Goodyear on Gen2 R1T Dual Standard at about 20k miles, tires likely good for another 15-20k miles, rotate every 7.5k, drive on AP and snow primarily.

2025 R1S Dual Standard G2 with 20” Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT. Currently looking good at 15k miles. Rotating at 7.5k, mostly driving in AP, 2,000 miles of towing.

I’m expecting at least 35k at this rate. 40k wouldn’t surprise me.

Sorry: yes in our case. 22” Pirrellis, both cars
Dual driven 95% in dual motor all purpose (one motor conserve)
Tri driven 65-75% Tri all purpose (all motors), 25-35% Sport
Dual - around town grocery getter
Tri - driven moderately quick from time to time (jumping on freeway, passing etc), but have yet to launch either one (!)

Generally speaking, not pounding on the cars
