Turn signals on a Canadian Rivian

I have a question for Canadian Rivian owners: In Canada, the rear turn signals must flash orange. Could you please create a video showing the interaction between the rear turn signal and brake light?

In Europe the signal lights have to be orange and its not allowed to use the same light for brake light and turn signal. So I am interested to see if this canadian lights would fullfill the european regulations.

In Germany, car are required to have amber turn signals.

I had an Audi that was made in Germany.

Amber turn signals are of course legal in the US, just not required.

Audi made US-market vehicles - even those built in Germany - with red turn signals.

This pisses me off. Sure, old cars that used the same bulb for tail light, brake light, and turn signal get away with it - but any modern car that uses a separate bulb for the turn signal (which is another pet peeve - they all should be) should absolutely be using amber. And especially a vehicle that when built for its home market in the same factory uses amber! Why did Audi go through extra complexity and expense in their assembly line just to make the vehicle worse for the US?

Canada aligns with the US on the regulations. The only difference is daytime running lights.
At one point in late 2023? Rivian had a stop sale order imposed on them until they complied with the regulations. They pushed a software update shortly after that increased the brightness of the stadium light ring. I believe the front light bar also dims slightly when the turn signal is is activated to further increase visibility and contrast.

I do too. I have a roof top tent which blocks the 3rd brake light. I know Rivian sells the 3rd brake light extension, but that still doesn't change the fact that the rear turn signals are red.

How many times have you seen an old pickup truck and you have no clue if they're braking or about to turn?

I’d like to see the entire rear light bar used for turn signals and brake lights. I’d also like the brake light to indicate intensity of braking. The harder need to stop, the brighter it gets, but I’d like to see that one on all cars.

Legally they cannot do the entire lightbar, the law requires brake and turn signal lights cannot be on moving panels, they must be in fixed locations. Though there might be a grey area here since there are already fixed lights providing that purpose.

This is the only factory trail light configuration. There is no version of the R1 that uses amber rear turn signals. So no, it doesn't comply with EU standards sadly. It's a North American market vehicle only

If that's the case, it's an aftermarket part. Rivian does not have factory amber rear lights for R1. Any R1 vehicles that exist outisde of North America were privately exported, as it does not comply with EU standards
