Same with me, driving solo I don’t care, but with my wife it’s another issue. However, with 80-90% local driving, and a 400 mile range, with BMW handling and performance, I’m still going to consider it. Hopefully a lightly used somewhat depreciated one.

The iX3 50 in Canada was up for reservations yesterday with a bonus BMW Wallbox for the first 300. I think it took about 18 hours to accomplish that. Pretty slow for an incentivized, refundable reservation. The R2 would probably take 10 minutes. (tariffs aside)

Since BMW South Carolina will not be delivering any of these cars this year, that means you will need to add another 10% on tariffs for cars built in the EU coming to the USA. In effect already. Call it the American VAT.

Fortunately, the other countries pay all the tariffs and not the consumer. I know this to be true because the Great Pumpkin said so.

It’s not as simple as that. Earlier in this thread car prices from the UK and the US were compared - covered by tariffs and it was about as me USD to one GBP. In the UK the price is GBP59k so $60k still holds for now. We should know soon when the configuratir comes online. Next year even more supply will be available from Mexico.

First, EU is 15% tariff, not 10%. There is no direct 15% tariff being passed on to the consumers by any automaker from EU. They all embed the cost in some ways as well as absorb some. Each automaker makes some sort of strategic decision on how the tariff costs are implemented into the pricing. It is all likely that BMW will price the vehicle with little to no tariff costs for the iX3, but recover the costs by increasing the prices of US made vehicles by some percentage to offset the costs.

I bought a vehicle in September from UK with 10% tariff. They did not increase the price other than a typical model year increase (2025 to 2026 model year).

You are correct, all EU countries are eating the entire tariffs thus far.

Tariffs on vehicles, auto parts, steel, aluminum and copper, remain in effect and are not impacted by the ruling.

They were placed under different law.
