The thing is, you still have to make 2 botton pushes to kneel. You have always been able to accomplish this by pressing "mode" and then sport low(est)......
Rivian Assistant will probably do this.

Do G1 Quads get a higher top speed in launch mode like G2, or do we stay capped at 111mph?
Still capped with the car thinking it has 21s at least. Definitely seemed to hit harder than otherwise, but the roads are also cold and wet and this is with snow tires on 22s

Rivian R1T R1S 2026.03 Update will revamp Kneel Mode 1000010435

I tried the Sports mode added in my Gen1 Dual Motor R1S in this update. Like it very much. It definitely accelerates faster in sports mode. Has anyone measured how fast in dual motor versions, like is it supposed to be better than 4.5s or same?

2026.03 Kneel mode not functioning properly. It will kneel just fine and definitely goes lower. My issue is, when I place the rig in drive it does not return to the original drive height. It just stays in kneel mode. I have to physically reselect the ride height. This is NOT cool. If you don’t reset the ride height, you may be in for some rude awakenings when the car bottom out or the tires rub. Both of which happened to me before I realized that it had not reverted to the preselected ride height. I tried soft and hard resets with no luck.

Did you start driving and exceed 5 mph, but it still didn't raise automatically after that?

It’s already there!
No it isn't!

Physical button, not something I have to hunt for. We need a tactile, muscle memory button. Ever tried to pull out of the driveway and think "wish the birds eye view could show me if there are any children around"?

Tiny quick settings button and then marginally less tiny mirror button is way too distracting, especially considering your accuracy is only 60%. Then you have to undo the wrong button press.

Oh. And they need to be geo-fenced so they fold automatically at specific locations.

Edit: Maybe I should mention dogs and not children. There are an awfully lot of you that have dogs and I'd bet you don't want to run them over either.

Hunt for? All you do is swipe right-to-left and it’s right there! Geesh.

Or tap the little truck icon at the top of the screen.

But don't worry - the poster has been harping on about absolutely requiring a physical button, on the steering wheel for this function (when most of the time that physical button in other cars is on the armrest, if it exists at all).

That is correct. I pulled out of my driveway and bottomed out on some snow that I should have easily cleared. Drove at normal speed for about a block and heard what sounded like my right front tire rubbing on the wheel arch. It was then that I realized the truck had not raised back up to its normal height. It was still in kneel mode. I had to manually reselect the desired ride height. It does seem to automatically drop into kneel mode when I put it in park. It just doesn’t automatically raise back up.

Perhaps you didn’t give it enough time to come out of kneel mode? Driving a block often doesn’t come out of kneel mode for me. Coming to a stop will often complete the process.

I have never had this happen. For me, it has always immediately started raising out of kneel, once I put it into a drive mode. I spent. a good deal of time testing and driving, trying to make it work, but it just wouldn’t. This is not good, especially considering how low kneel mode is now. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow.

Yesterday, I spent some more time in my Rivian. The issue I was having with the kneel mode not returning to the selected driving position seems to have rectified itself. At least yesterday, it transitioned out of kneel mode almost immediately after starting to drive. We’ll see how it goes, today.

There's still some room below sport mode. You can tell on a gen2 when you put it into launch mode, it drops the front end even lower. Existing kneel is somewhere around the "low" setting, but it doesn't seem super consistent.

Rivian likes to lock out suspension changes when the vehicle is at too steep of an angle. I'm wondering if they've made adjustments to that system in general.
Someone reported the new kneel is 5” lower. Find that hard to believe but we will see
