Yeah, it sucks.Destination fee can't be waived. Federal law requires it to be the same for all purchasers of a specific model, regardless of actual location/destination.

How many offroad now other than some of the original R1T crowd? 2-4% at most? It's capable offroad but the brand turned into a mall crawl vehicle despite the PR spin.R2 is the only option that is offroad capable at that price point. But if all you'll be doing is mall crawling which a majority of buyers are then there are a lot of options in that space which may be better suited for on road use from premium brands and non-premium brands.
I've gone off-road in my R1T that I only bought in Feb 2024. Does that make me part of the "original crowd"?How many offroad now other than some of the original R1T crowd? 2-4% at most? It's capable offroad but the brand turned into a mall crawl vehicle despite the PR spin.
How is it any different of Jeep or Land Rover? Like… who cares. How people choose to use their car can coexist with a brand’s aspirational position. Keyword being aspirational. Branding is ALL about aspirations. Aspirations do not have to align perfectly with reality. Dreams don’t all have to be true. How many offroad now other than some of the original R1T crowd? 2-4% at most? It's capable offroad but the brand turned into a mall crawl vehicle despite the PR spin.
I take my R1T over sand frequently, but just today as my wife and I were coming home from playing paddle, she said "Turn here, I want to see what all the construction is about."How many offroad now other than some of the original R1T crowd? 2-4% at most? Fair point but at least Land Rover & Jeep on pavement are pretty decent with their air suspension (I had a 2015 JGC with air suspension). Gen 1 R1S with 20's has awful suspension on bumpy NY roads. It was designed for offroad and absolutely feels like it despite the software tweaks. Haven't driven Gen 2 but from the reviews, it's not mindblowingly better. R1T gets away with it because of the longer wheelbase. I'm cool with the branding but the on-road experience should be way better since that's what the majority of owners will be doing. How is it any different of Jeep or Land Rover? Like… who cares. Look at a BMW X7. Can anyone claim with a straight face that it embodies “the ultimate driving machine”?
And how many Air Jordan owners are actually avid basketball players?
Brands promise that you “could” be something if you wanted to. Not you “will” just by owning something.
Jeep and good on-road handling don’t belong in same thought. And you clearly are not well read on why gen1 R1S suspension isn’t as refined as it could have been. It has everything to do with suspension hardware not tuned specifically to the S’s shorter wheelbase and inherently different chassis harmonics. The perception of roughness is about control of fore-after pitching, not hardness. This they addressed already with gen 2, both with hardware and software. Yesterday’s news. Google “wheelbase and suspension harmonics” for a basic primer.Fair point but at least Land Rover & Jeep on pavement are pretty decent with their air suspension (I had a 2015 JGC with air suspension). Backlog my arse. Elon just wants to make it look that way.CyberTruck AWD is increased to $70k now due to backlog. Pricing is one important factor in sale.
Riiight. When is the roadster delivery date again?delivery date pushed to 2027
They release sales numbers just like every manufacturer. Not sure how they would hide anything.Backlog my arse. Elon just wants to make it look that way.
Considering originally when the price cut was announced they said the offer was for 10 days, yeah it was temporary and to move vehicles. Can't believe people still buy stuff from that man. They release sales numbers just like every manufacturer. Not sure how they would hide anything.
I wouldn't be surprised if a temp $20k price cut moved a good amount of metal.
