Why not just park the car somewhere and let people use their mobile phones to unlock them and test drive them like you do at a Tesla dealer? No human contact.

For all we know their entire events team has been out sick. “10% of people are affected per week” doesn’t hold water. That’s like saying only 4% of the US population has died of COVID-19.


the specification pages for both model need a lot more detail.
The numbers do matter if the argument you and others made was that there were insufficient people to staff these. If everyone was out these past two week then they would be ok to host going forward.

Obviously that is not what happened since nothing is planned. They could easily schedule for March, April etc when by all expert opinion omicron will be much reduced, the weather is warmer than to. But that require forward planning!

We bought our MY back in 9/20/20. I have a Cybertruck order as a placeholder.
In the past few weeks, I've been contacted by (2) local Tesla dealers to come in for a test drive. I was a little surprised they are reaching out given their backlog.

If Tesla can do it, why can't Rivian (with the understanding they have limited dealers, etc).

At this point there is no shortage of R1Ts to use for test drives so what we are left with is a Management decision to not proceed. How far up the management chain this decision was made I don't know but I do know that there basically is no time frame to restart test drives and that CS and Guides are very frustrated by the lack of clarity.

Yeah theyre just leaving the South hangin...
I wrote a strongly worded letter (email) to CS back in December about the fact that they have effectively ignored about 1/3 of the country and the reply was basically "[ shrug emoji ], we are planning on doing events in the south at some point in 2022."

Their track record, poor as it is, is to be dead quiet until something concrete is happening. So they could well have stuff lined up for spring, but they’re not saying anything yet.

I’m hoping for something to materialize somewhere in western Canad in the spring or summer, even Minneapolis.

The covid excuse doesn't hold water. If they had cars at locations ready to test drive but staff was out, okay, but they took the cars from Seattle. They have a service center here they can safely park them at! Why would you take the cars away?? You """""""sold""""""" 1k cars last year but can't spare 2 in Seattle?

I'm 01/19 LE in Seattle and didn't get a test drive offer. They only got a small percentage of the very early delivery window people here before they packed up and left.

Something about this doesn't add up. Are they running into issues with the test drive vehicles holding up, whether mechanically or aesthetically?

I count the media drive event in Breckenridge because it's my arbitrary system and I made the map.
