Escalade IQ Sport. I was able to get it 12K under MSRP.
How do the two compare? I really like the look and prefer the larger 3d row.

My wife wanted a three row SUV for hauling around the grandkids and we have been considering the Escalade for about 6 months. The second row has the captain seats with the walk through in the middle, plus those seats fold up for easy entry. Also the GM software is very stable, I have had a Hummer EV for 2 years now and it has very few glitches as compared to the Rivian, and the SuperCruise is great. The biggest advantage of the IQ, is that it has the 800V charging like the Hummer, but better efficiency for road tripping. The Escalade also has capability to run video for the passengers while driving. All the streaming apps and video apps can be downloaded from the Playstore, they are not running GM custom software, basically they run the same code as on your phone.

I thought their infotainment sys is all Google-based hence the playstore.

Yes it is, and also the maps are entirely Google, same as the phone app and works better than the Rivian Google implementation. And all those apps, including the maps, update independent of any OTAs.

A couple of examples of better map implementation:

1) GM maps have ALL charging stations, and the brand names show up on the map.
2) GM maps have Waze incident alerts on the map and a reporting button right on the screen.
3) Trip planning can be done in Google maps on the phone and then sent to the vehicle directly, and entered destination searches show up in the vehicle as well, even without a trip plan. Google on the phone knows the battery capacity and vehicle efficiency.

hmmm... I wonder if leasing every couple of years works out better? just a pondering thought... Get a newer model, cost of the new lease might be comparable to these EW plans?
