A little funny "borealis", which was a limited run for only tri and quad motor R1s, now coming to significantly cheaper model.

Who said borealis is going to be cheap? Not R2 Tri.

Will be interesting if they offer more than one free color. The R1 only has Silver (Launch Green was also free at launch), everything else is an up charge.

White was once a free color at the beginning, too.

Interesting that Rivian have decided with Catalina Cove to break from their tradition of describing the color in the name - like Forest Green, Red Canyon, Glacier White.

White was once a free color at the beginning, too.

No reason, outside of profit, why there cannot be more than one free color.

4 monochromes, 2 greens, 1 undetermined but probably grayge, and 1 purple.

Having just traded in a perfectly good Canyon Red for a Borealis R1S (and took a bath on the deal). My wife insists that the R2 will be Canyon Read... oh, she's going to be pissed that the color is not available for R2. Hindsight being 20/20 I could have kept the Canyon Red and gotten an R2 for what we paid for the color change (and forced upgrade from Dual to Trimotor).

Is it wrong to have two Borealises?

Catalina is an island, and a “cove” is a small bay, and bays are composed of water. Catalina Cove will be a shade of blue.

I was really hoping for Rivian Blue, depending on what color Catalina Cove (presumably a blue by the photo), I may have to go with Launch Green.

That is if I don't go with a pre-owned R1S. We have friends with an R1S and its so big, I prefer smaller vehicles.

Blandest colors going. I know people can always wrap a car but between the greyscale + green and perhaps purple, it's boring.

Sorry Borealis fans. Get rid of Purple and replace it with ANYTHING else. Yelllow, Red, you pick it.

I'm with you in terms of getting something more interesting - there's a number of "colors" that are variations of grey - get rid of a couple of them and add in yellow, red or maybe even something retro like copper.

So it's basically the standard color palette with fancy names plus purple and a special launch green.

So standard colors being: White, black, silver, darker grey, green, blue. The blue being some variation of Rivian Blue.

(Could have been worse. I actually thought they would launch with even fewer colors to simplify production.)
