That Borealis is really growing on me. I don't think I could do it myself, but it is beautiful!

My coworker who has a Rivian Blue R1S thought Borealis would be very bright, but it really isn't, and at night it looks black. Rivian Blue is much brighter for instance, even when dirty. It does show snow spray (mag chloride) easily. I had it ceramic coated to make it easier to clean, will see if that really helps long term.

I am a bit puzzled why your photos are owned by Rivian Forums. Did you put the mark on your photos or did the site?
I was asked and I didn’t have any objections, so the post was edited accordingly

Catalina Cove looks really similar to the R3X color. Oh darn! 😁

From the Ars Technica article that leaked today, I think we now know what Catalina Cove looks like! And one of the wheel variants as well

Must be a on-pavement sport option, judging by scale and sidewall.

Hard to tell from just this shot if it’s the R3X color or some blend between that and Rivian Blue. I’m betting (and hoping) it’s the R3X color, but we’ll find out more tomorrow I’m sure.
And R3X has only been shown in concept form. The paint on it is also subject to change. They could easily have adjusted formula of paint for any reason, with eye towards cost and/or consistency in mass production.

So they are coming with yellow brake calipers...interesting. I thought that was meant for the tri. So is the Tri R2 going to have teal calipers like the Quad R1? To indicate top of the line trim?

Just spit balling here. I do find that interesting though. Really digging the look of the R2 the more I see it.

I guess with the Arstechnica leak everything is out in the open, but I just passed by the showroom again and they decided today they might close the blinds

Association of yellow calipers to Tri is/was an assumption. I think more accurate to speculate it's associated with performance level within each model line, and not specifically tied to number of motors.

And with that speculation, I would bet the Tri R2 to be a R2X (with dark blue calipers).

Standard performance (silver) < high performance (yellow) < max performance/RAD (dark blue)

Agreed. And I hope so. Now it's back to speculating and waiting for the RAD R2/R2X.

Rivian should make the caliper color as a paid option like some do. Let the base be the current DM metallic unfinished calipers.

It seems to me that large number of buyers care about the color of the caliper so Rivian should include the color option with the wheel choice as a package. Don't need dozens of colors but say, Yellow, Red, Black, Blue and Purple.

Nice color but the ally wheel design is not the best.
