That Borealis is really growing on me. I don't think I could do it myself, but it is beautiful!

I was asked and I didn’t have any objections, so the post was edited accordinglyI am a bit puzzled why your photos are owned by Rivian Forums. Did you put the mark on your photos or did the site?
Must be a on-pavement sport option, judging by scale and sidewall. From the Ars Technica article that leaked today, I think we now know what Catalina Cove looks like! And one of the wheel variants as well![]()

Hard to tell from just this shot if it’s the R3X color or some blend between that and Rivian Blue. I’m betting (and hoping) it’s the R3X color, but we’ll find out more tomorrow I’m sure.Catalina Cove looks really similar to the R3X color. Oh darn!![]()
And R3X has only been shown in concept form. The paint on it is also subject to change. They could easily have adjusted formula of paint for any reason, with eye towards cost and/or consistency in mass production.Hard to tell from just this shot if it’s the R3X color or some blend between that and Rivian Blue. So they are coming with yellow brake calipers...interesting. I thought that was meant for the tri. So is the Tri R2 going to have teal calipers like the Quad R1? To indicate top of the line trim? From the Ars Technica article that leaked today, I think we now know what Catalina Cove looks like! And one of the wheel variants as well![]()

Association of yellow calipers to Tri is/was an assumption. I think more accurate to speculate it's associated with performance level within each model line, and not specifically tied to number of motors. So they are coming with yellow brake calipers...interesting. Just spit balling here. I do find that interesting though. Really digging the look of the R2 the more I see it.
Agreed. And I hope so. Now it's back to speculating and waiting for the RAD R2/R2X.Association of yellow calipers to Tri is/was an assumption. I think more accurate to speculate it's associated with performance level within each model line, and not specifically tied to number of motors.
And with that speculation, I would bet the Tri R2 to be a R2X (with dark blue calipers).
Standard performance (silver) < high performance (yellow) < max performance/RAD (dark blue)
Nice color but the ally wheel design is not the best. From the Ars Technica article that leaked today, I think we now know what Catalina Cove looks like! And one of the wheel variants as well![]()
