I think the T is a uniquely excellent vehicle. I’m excited about the R2 for all the people it makes sense for, but I think if you want a truck, a used Gen2 T Dual Max is an excellent choice.I've been checking the Rivian website and CarMax for used R1Ts (I went to a Rivian service center last month to test-drive an R1S and an R1T — hated the way the R1S rode, but fell in love with the R1T).
CarMax had a 2025 R1T Max Pack with Performance Package, Sight and Sound, Power Tonneau, Ocean Cost interior, and 22-inch all-seasons for $68,000 with 25,000 miles on it in Illinois. Was about to pull the trigger and pay the $549 fee to have it shipped to NC when someone snatched it and had it shipped to Colorado.
Even though the R1T is a vastly different vehicle from the R2 I have a reservation for, I think it'll be a much more versatile vehicle for my needs.
