Which R2 Color Will You Choose?

Travis Ketchum made a video today and said that all colors *except* for Launch Green will be included with the LE. Would be awesome if that holds true.

I didn’t catch that one watching, I think he said (or meant to say) all colors are available - which is different from included (which would be no cost). We will see when the configurator comes out.

White is just too clean.

I have a white car now and it really does emphasize the black trim and the red brake lights. It also reflects the most heat, which cuts down on the AC running harder and thus saves on battery/range.

I’m assuming this will just be for the Launch Edition. If true it would increase the value of that trim. Maybe this is also a way of making up for the lack of LiDar and the more powerful chipset that will arrive at the end of 2026/early 2027? Only time will tell.

He's saying it's a Launch Edition perk only I believe.

*edit* Tesla still includes all colors with the performance trim, so wondering if it will be performance only after the LE ends?

This poll is interesting in that it skews toward the 4 "colors" offered rather than the typical black/white/silver/gray that dominate the automotive world. IMHO, it probably says more about the forum than what the actual take rates will be.

100% was thinking the exact same thing when I submitted and saw 40% Catalina Cove. As much as I love that color, majority of cars on the road including Rivians are grayscale.

If this ends up being true, then my vote for Launch Green might have been a lie. Catalina Cove might be the winner if free!

I will very much happily give up lidar for free autonomy and borealis and towing. Won't see results from lidar for years anyway.

It’s true. I’ve heard the LiDar is just to catch up with autonomy and possible offer robotaxi services. The faster processor though…

The reality is that most with launch editions will have long traded them in for their next vehicle by the time lidar makes a difference. But, by all means, I hope people hold out so that my reservation number pops up sooner.

I'm in Europe and hope that the R2 will be released here sooner than my current car dies (a Skoda Yeti - a small SUV based on the VW Golf platform).

I think an R2 would look great wrapped in Toyo FJ Cruiser "Voodoo Blue" with a white roof.

My R2 will be parked all the day on the sun, so unless I can find some shade,
my only option would be Glacier White !!!

Note: Lighter car colors can result in interior temperatures 10–20°F cooler than black vehicles.

Probably so, we plan on keeping ours for the long haul as long as we don't have any major issues with it. It will be for my wife and she doesn't really care about switching cars. I'm hoping that we hit the Launch Edition lottery though, current R1 owner, reservation holder within minutes of it opening on 03/07/2024, and now only 22 miles from a service center. I guess we'll see once they start allowing people to order.

I like what you’re putting down. The two-tone look is sweet.

I think the plan was to export to Europe in 2027, but now that info has been removed. I think it all depends on US sales and the completion of the Georgia plant.

I generally dislike green vehicles, but find Forest Green to look the sharpest on the R1S; on the flip side, Launch green looks the worst (to me)
