My R1T was in for servicing this week (and a fine job they did!). I was offered a 2023 Nissan Leaf as alternative transportation.

What kind of wizardry is this, I ask!!! An ODOMETER in the DRIVERS CONSOLE and a CLOCK on the center stack in 16 PITCH FONT (no reading glasses needed)!!!! Witchcraft, I TELLS YA!! WITCHCRAFT!!!

I just got a chuckle out of this given how much we've been hoping so see these in some future update.

And yes, the clock on the drivers screen is wrong...

I love the fact that the instrument cluster clock and the infotainment clock are set separately.

The top of the drivers console was blocked by the steering wheel. Didn't even know the clock was there until I took a photo of the odometer for the rental agency!

Been that way for ages with Nissans dumbest thing in the world, does the same with temp readings, compass and maintenance warnings on ICE cars too the two systems have overlapping features but do not talk to each other.

But yes not having the odometer or clock in the driver display is also very dumb on Rivian's part. Same with the music controls all on the passenger side of the screen so forced to use the steering wheel. Little sad for a company who keeps saying they are a software company first.

Is there some reason you even need this always displayed? The more useful one would be displaying the distance field from one of the trip meters, but I leave the gauge view up almost all the time and don't worry about it. The odometer is in the center screen UI in the About page...just not seeing a use case for it being more prominent. Many modern cars just allow switching between the trip meters and odo on the dash. Only thing I used to use the odo for was entering data in my fuel tracking app, which isn't really a thing for EVs.

I'm with you - it's like the clock on the oven and the microwave! Our appliances are from 2001, but clocks that sync (or no clock at all) is high on my features list for when we replace them.

This is probably why it’s taking Rivian so long to implement: Getting two clocks synced across screens is surprisingly hard.

I want an odometer where I can see it, in real time, and not discover, after the fact, that I blew past a maintenance interval because I forgot to check the bottom of the app or dig through some secondary middle console screen.

Is that an actual analog speedo or another screen? I would take the dial over the digital numbers any day.

Wouldn't it be amazing if we had the option to increase font size ( like phones have).
