Sightings getting more frequent! These two Glacier White R2 were spotted yesterday - in Irvine and parked at LAX.

R2 looks great either in motion or parked.

The build quality looks astoundingly good on these early ones.

Yep! My totally unprofessional and uneducated guess is that they are running the line a bit slower to make sure things are working correctly and avoiding mistakes. We'll see what happens as they ramp up...

May this prevent the occasional charger drama with that charge port location
Yeah, smart move of them to bring it back to drivers side. The earlier prototypes had it on the passenger side, perhaps they will move it for the EU versions when they start exporting as they have many street parking L2 chargers.

I'm really happy about that. Takes some of the anxiety out of road trips where you know you're going to be using a site with V3 stalls.

I certainly hope streetside charging appears in the US as well, and am disappointed that making it easier to use v3 superchargers that will not be around forever was seen as more important. I suppose if you're going to ditch your car after a 3-year lease (and before there's any appreciable amount of US streetside charging) it might be OK, but we keep cars for far longer and this was not a farsighted choice IMO. I'd have been much happier to pay an extra couple hundred bucks to run wiring up to the front passenger area and then everybody would be happy.

DC fast charging is probably a low percentage of total charging but I think that street-side charging is possibly even a lower percentage of total charging. I've never streetside charged, wouldn't even know where to do that, and can't imagine a good use scenario for it. I DO, however, DC fast charge a handful of times per year.

I'm absolutely certain there's virtually no streetside charging in the US now, but I sure as hell hope that's not still true in 5 years. How long are v3 superchargers going to be around, and even if the existing ones are all still here in 5 years, won't there certainly be a much wider choice of non-Tesla-v3 charging sites available?

There are many in dense urban areas that do not have garages and people have to park on the street overnight, these are the primary uses for said chargers.

I think you are referring to DCFC, those are not going anywhere. How is one to charge up when traveling long distances?
