My key fob shows green - in the keys area and will unlock / lock the R1S - but the other two key function of hood and trunk don't seem to work - double click etc. Click and hold etc. don't work - I have seen it ask to update the fob but I never have it on me - I only use it on trips in case of VALET - any ideas?

This is a long shot, but I've had the fob show up with a good battery in the keys page, but the battery was actually almost drained. You may try a battery replacement just to rule that out. I say this is a long shot because if the signal is strong enough for the doors, it should be for the frunk also.
I can also relate to the fob update issue. I've put the fob in the car for most OTA updates, but I've never seen any confirmation that a fob update occurred.

I have a set of new Panasonic 2450 batteries in it - they all show green if i try each one - the older battery shows yellow. I was hoping when it went to GREEN that it would return to normal. So far - nope.

I have noticed that the double click speed is a little fussy. There is a small range of click spacing that will work. Experiment.with how you double click. You may discover a method that works. Also, the keyfob has tactile feedback. Make sure you feel the click every time..

Have you ever gotten it to work? The two clicks need to be closely spaced - think eighth notes not quarter notes.

Try clicking twice as fast and see if that works for you.
