I find it interesting that the cutouts for motorized rear windows and associated bolt holes are still there. Maybe something for the Tri sometime down the line?

Seems like such an odd feature to include only on the tri-motor and nothing else. My guess is that they decided late in the game to ditch the feature, and said "no harm, no foul" at leaving the notch.

Why do you care what another grown man wears? Please point on the doll where others fashion choices have hurt you.
I don’t, I wasn’t the one that brought it up, I was responding to somebody else. Wild of you to assume that this means I was abused in someway.

"Once production reaches a higher run rate in 2027, the R2 will cost Rivian less than half as much to build as the R1, McDonough said.
Those savings hinge on an aggressive consolidation ‌and elimination of parts, Rivian told Reuters. Die castings cut costs by 32%, a new drive unit delivered a 25% reduction and a simplified suspension slashed spending by 72%."

Now that is impressive!!

What it also implies is that the R2 should be wayyyy less expensive to repair once out of warranty.
Still all captive parts, though.....so pricing might not be as low as some would hope.

My guess is that this is another feature which will appear on the "real" launch edition that comes in 2027 when they've actually ironed out their supply chain and final tweaks along with lidar, RAP1, improved door handle situation, and whatever else wasn't quite ready for spring. 👀

I wonder what that series of speed bumps immediately after the roll out is for? Find any immediately loose pieces?
Noticed and was curious about the same thing, and all I can think is you're right. They want to know immediately if something significant in the suspension/drivetrain didn't get bolted on/down correctly and tightly, plus shake loose any foreign objects accidentally left behind under or in the car during manufacturing.

I could also see simple speed control as the explanation, but a couple of more standard speed bumps would accomplish that just fine without making every joint and weld in the entire car work, which those things will do.

I was talking of his rolled up pant legs, but yes, this is better.
Sometimes you accidentally buy pants with longer legs than you thought. I've been there before.
Yes, but you don’t then wear those pants to a major event that gets published.
It's a style to roll jeans, whether you like it or not. Streetwear fans are all about showing off their selvage denim. He might want to not look polished because he feels it's less "try hard" or just doesn't care.
I wear suits and sport coats daily, yet I will roll my casual denim/duck cloth pants because I'm so used to cuffed pant legs.

Enough with the FUD that the model being built now is not a real R2 and the “real” one will be built in 8-9 months time. The only changes are RAP1 and LiDAR and RJ has said L4 autonomy (for which those are required, current recovers L3) will be late 2020s to early 2030s and seeing other threads about BMW and Mercedes then 2030s make sense. Solid you want to delay buying because you MIGHT get L4 in 3-6 years time then please wait. But don’t belittle the vehicle which has been designed and developed over many years.
The infotainment, overall design, heat pump, batteries, motors etc will not be changing within such a short time frame.
