This is a recurring issue with my poor truck. I thought they finally figured it out when the Shelton SC replaced a driver assistance control module. This was last Sept. And stormbreaker has been fine for over 6 month.

These sensors and control module allow you to use cruise control. So kinda important.

Today, went to do the usual school drop off I saw the message when backing up that 'proximity sensors have not finished powering up'. Rut roh.

Sure enough, the errors appears on the dash. I captured the logs.

While waiting to pick up the kiddo, I did a full reset. Nope, no difference. So I opened a ticket. Doing that hour long ass drive to the SC again next Friday. :(

My primary worry is that I will be out of warranty the end of this year :( How much does this cost out of pocket?

That was where I was about 6 months into owning the truck. They found a issue with the ultrasonic sensors and it resolved the issue for a few months from 10/24 to 03/25.

I counted 5 previous SC visits for the driver assistance functionality. Next Friday will be the 6th time.
:(

My concern is being out of warranty at some point, even with very low miles, this can become a very expensive issue moving forward.

I'm a bit confused by this post as the proximity sensors have no impact on adaptive cruise control.

I'm pretty sure I can put black tape on the Ultrasonics and I can still use Adaptive Cruise Control. I haven't tested tape yet, but I have left my truck ridiculously dirty.

I did clean my truck as I was getting sick of the messages that told me the front parking sensors were dirty.

The bad part was when it kept telling me this after I cleaned the sensors. So I'm going to bring it in to see if there is a fault. It doesn't happen all the time but enough that it makes it annoying.

The only time I ever use them is pulling into the garage occasionally where I know to stop at a specific point with the ultrasonic readout.

The driver assistance features are all integrated systems. The ultrasonic sensors, cameras, and radars are all connected. Sadly, adaptive cruise control sh!ts the bed when which ever of these systems have a fault of some sort.

Last time they addressed it, they replaced a controller module. I guess the main brain for this? Lasted six months and now the errors have resurfaced.

I want to be clear, the overall function of the truck is good. Drivability, power, control, entertainment, all are good.

Just sux for longer road trips.
