Just by expressing doubt and thinking about this 12v issue being the end of his Rivian, sounds like the Count has made his mind already...
3.5 years on my 12v, $400 some dollars mobile service within a week of the 12v notification, and 65k miles, plus full suspension update prior to the comp warranty expiring has me eyeing 150k miles...
Then this afternoon in traffic, the tocking sounds, aka loose half shafts returns. All of a sudden the Carvana "your R1T is in high demand" email arrives $5k higher than last month ...

Why Rivian batteries die...

One way to deal with phantom battery drain - and here's another way

I have Gear Guard and proximity sensor turned off - but every time I walk out the front door, the brake lights flash - apparently the truck is looking for the fob or the phone all the time.

I keep an EcoFlow charged up from the 12v power port in the tunnel. Small 12v to 120v inverter plugged into the EcoFlow, and a very small Battery Tender plugged into the inverter. At this point, the Battery Tender is connected to the OBD port. When I install a 12v power port or 2 in the bed (shame on you, Rivian), I'll also wire the Battery Tender directly to the 12v battery.
Those who have a garage or driveway, there is merit in using a tender. I have an Optima red top that is 10+ years old in my other car (hardly driven, the Rivian ruined all ICE cars for me), which is always hooked up to a tender. And it still fires up and runs. IIRC, at least for gen1, the OBD port can be used to trickle charge the 12V as well.

3.5 years in on original 12vs too, still haven't gotten the warning yet (knock on wood). Debating at what point I just preemptively make the appt... I'm lucky that I now have a SC 5 minutes from my office vs 2 hours in either direction when I originally bought it.

Doesn’t hurt to ask

Just helped my neighbor replace his 9/22 OEM rivian batteries in the driveway. Took about 30-45 minutes, but can confirm he needed to plug in his work computer to clear the OTC error code. He had the same "replace battery" warning light as Mark. We talked about the Ohmmu batteries and even as an employee, he was on the fence about warranty issues with an aftrermarket battery. I'll let him know that the Service center had no issues servicing / clearing codes with those batteries..
Did you pull the fireman cable before replacing? I heard you have to do that to avoid the battery warning light.

He did pull the fireman's switch, which I believe is required. His already had the "replace 12V battery" message , which cannot be cleared without connecting to a Rivian Service computer. I'm not sure if you will get a 12v battery warning light (OTC) if you replace the 12V batteries before you get the "replace 12v battery" warning light. He did say replacing the batteries required the calibration of the IBS sensors (intelligent battery sensor) located on top of the batteries.

No, it is not available via RIDE. if you have That Notification it can only be removed by Rivian service. I had it done yesterday as I exhausted all other options.
