I need to mount this sticker. Our windshield has expensive Xpel ceramic UV/IR blocking film on it. The customer service rep for Express Toll said I could just put the sticker up with scotch tape. That doesn't sound like it will work.

Any of you CO guys put these on the front middle of the glass roof? I have the dynamic roof option and wondering if that would cause a problem.

The windshield film is expensive so don't want to risk ruining it if I have to remove the sticker.

Thanks.

Hey dude,

I have mine on the inside of the windshield right next to the A-Pillar. I've never had any issue with it being read by either the transponders nor the reader at Fine Airport Parking. It's an RFID-embedded sticker, so it bounces a light radio signal off of it, not a visual thing - thus, I can't imagine the XPEL would affect its operation.

Thanks but my concern is that it rips the Xpel if I have to remove it.

Ooohhhhh, I definitely misunderstood the point of your post.

FWIW, I have removed one from another car and it is metallicized foil adhesive on the back and required a razor blade and work to get it off.

Use one of these. I have my Comma 4 mounted on it. It just clings to the windshield tint (mine is alsso tinted) and you can stick whatever you want to it. Then if you need to remove it, you just remove the entire static cling film without damaging your tint.

Agreed…I have Llumar Air 80 (https://llumar.com/en/tint/clear/) on my 2022 EV6 GT-Line with HUD, and this is exactly what I used to mount our sticker. Works great.

I don't have tint but I use Sticker Shield! for my registration sticker but not sure how it would work on tint although reviews have plenty of people using it on tint. Works like a champ though compared to the sticky nonsense DMV sends me. Wish I could do it on registration but most shops won't let you stick it to the sticker shield (Windshield Sticker Applicator for Easy Application, Removal and Re-Application from Car to Car - 4 inch x 6 inch Sheets (Pack of 2 Sheets)

I have used the static clings with my TX Tag toll sticker, also RFID with zero issues. I have a stack that XPel Austin gave me that look exactly like the first link, and they are a corporate XPel store, so I trust they know what won’t damage their tint.

This may sound ridiculous, but if you peel the backing off and then stick the decal on your shirt or pants 3-4 times, there is a layer of lint that will allow it to peel off easily. As long as I have been doing that, I have had no issues removing them from windshields.

I have mine mounted on the windshield, and I recently had it miss reading my sticker so I got a bill for that toll. Not sure what it would do on the roof.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll put it on one of those clear static sheets as suggested. We don't live in CO just travel up I-25 four or five times a year so will remove it when not traveling.

I'm not sure how your state's toll system works, but in California (and New Jersey) if it doesn't scan, it still captures your license plate and correlates the info there. You'll still be billed the toll either way.

I know a lot of folks don't bother putting the sticker or transponder on.

In fact, I don't have one on my wife's car and it's not an issue.
