I can only recall one thing he said that didn't materialize... Apple Watch as proximity key for gen1.I only believe about 25% of what Wass says, but if this does actually materialize (and soon) it will be a really welcome addition. Don't get me wrong, Waze is really great, but by far the speed trap warnings are it's stand-out feature!
You've just triggered my PTSD.Great! Now give me Microsoft Teams notifications.![]()
Well, R1 gen 1 was supposed to get advanced Autonomy capabilities and never did. That’s far more important to me than AW as a key.I can only recall one thing he said that didn't materialize... Apple Watch as proximity key for gen1.
That wasn't a promise from Wassym himself. It was the company line until it wasn't.Well, R1 gen 1 was supposed to get advanced Autonomy capabilities and never did. That’s far more important to me than AW as a key.
I am guessing it would be the same as having live traffic and satellite views, you need subscription not just a live connection to the internet. Otherwise, it'd be pointless for them to put any features behind a paywall that is so easily bypassed. I could be wrong...Question. If Connect+ is required, can you get around that by connecting car to your phone Hotspot? At that point the car has data. Is that all they require or do they truly require the subscription? I assume this would be true for all similar things like voice prompts that need cloud decoding.
Spreadsheet with ads and motivational posters/slogans. Next Gear Shop item: red stapler.I would pay not to get Teams notifications!
What's next, they push a spreadsheet to your center screen?![]()
Welp, we know who the masochist is around here.Great! Now give me Microsoft Teams notifications.![]()
They really only put things behind the Connect+ paywall when it costs them money to provide the feature, like satellite view for maps and Rivian Assistant. Guaranteed Waze isn't free for them to provide so it's a good bet it'll require Connect+.Question. If Connect+ is required, can you get around that by connecting car to your phone Hotspot? And the “I wonder how many bugs this will introduce” questionsBrace for 10+ pages of complaints over Connect+ subscription fee.
Slow your roll!!I'm gonna hate this update unless it shows wazers that I'm king.
