Our Rivian R2 Performance v Tesla Model Y Performance testing numbers.

You can see the R2 launches softer but clearly rips harder up top

Huge differences in trap speeds. What's the Model YP's top speed?

The 1/8 mile doesn’t make sense to me when you add up the 0-90mph times. R2 is way ahead at that point. It also says in the graphic MYP hits 97mph while R2 hits 101mph. So not sure mathematically how MYP magically gains A LOT of ground in that small window.

Tesla jumps ahead and remains ahead until the 1/8th mile mark when the R2 just about catches up and stays ahead opening the gap.

One set of times is 0-60, the other is 50-90. You can't determine the 0-90 time by adding those two together.

This is great....but irrelevant. Sure, I love my HP and such. But on my 5 mile commute, do you know how much I needed to tune my Type R? I didn't. I don't drag race. I road race once a year for fun.

So the R2? That's a commuter car. Is it cool that it's fast? Sure. But so was the RDX. Wife loves that car. But...looking forward to a major upgrade in the R2 and NOT from a performance standpoint.

And then I would NEVER buy a tesla....not going to support that. Sorry.

I look forward to your 5 month review, and your reflections on your assertion that the RDX is fast.
