I'll go out on a limb here and buck the trend that I don't really need any more apps. I'd just like to see some functionality added to the existing navigation app. Some of these are cribbed from Tesla navigation, but they're useful nonetheless:

• Choosing different routes in a similar fashion to ABRP's selections
• Improving the predicted destination SoC (percent, not miles of range remaining)
• Allow you to name starred locations and navigate to them using a name
• Better Alexa recognition of location names
• Allow you to choose your default view (I always manually choose the entire route view, and it always defaults to a zoomed in view)
• Option to display navigation widget in cluster when starting to navigate to a destination
• Display energy consumption stats of current drive (distance, energy consumed, time)
• Allow for navigation while charging, showing destination SoC (to know when to unplug).
• Auto adjust suspension based on location (my garage at work has a low clearance and I always put ride height in lowest. This can be a manual setting.)

I don't spend much time in the truck charging, but if I did, being able to play Netflix or Plex would be nice. And though I already use Spotify, I can appreciate others wanting their streaming service of choice.

Mostly agree with above. Would like to be able to edit the name in saved locations in Nav favorites - for example Charlie' House instead of the street address.

I have had a number of cars with different Apps available and for the state of the art vehicle that Rivian is, we only have 4-5 Apps to choose from. So I thought I would be interesting to see what Apps other members think would be a nice edition to our trucks. I know there are a lot of people out there that want CarPlay or Android Auto. I believe we will be getting an update soon that will have the Sirius/XM App. Personally I think a Weather App would be a "nice to have". Also a way to get our text messages read to us or even a notification that we received a text would be nice.

With amazon owning a chunk, how can there not be Audible? I use it every day. Maybe Chirp, too?

+1 for Apple Music and Podcasts and Messages integration.

And i too often have the Bluetooth degrade while listening to audible. Or have it suddenly disconnect. Or just become choppy and unlistenable. Give us native apps, please.

I don’t really care about the video streamer apps much. I just never am sitting in my car needing those.

• Apple Music (got this already thankfully)
• A dedicated podcast app -- Overcast, Pocketcast, Podcast Addict, eg not Spotify
• Messaging app that supports SMS and iMessage

OR

For the 1000th time, you could just allow CarPlay and not have to worry about app support.

-A better way to listen to music that is owned. I'd be fine with either an improved Bluetooth player or USB. As long as the USB can be the same one that we're saving gear guard videos too since there's a USB shortage in the front of the vehicle.

-A way to listen to podcasts that doesn't rely on a subscription service. Audible would be nice too, but is lower priority.

-Weather wouldn't be used frequently, but would be REALLY valuable in some situations.

-We don't need different mapping/navigation apps, but this relies on constant improvement to the current system. I assume additional parts of the ABRP software will be integrated over time.

-RJ's interview yesterday did confirm that texting support is coming.

-I could see some cool apps to bring in if it ever becomes easy for third party developers to bring in their own creations. For example, an app for constellations would be cool, and something like GuideAlong tours.

1. Agree. Even the old "iPod" mode would be a great start to navigate library and playback audio wired

Honestly, with the size of the screens in cars now, I wish they all just let you mirror your phone screen into a dedicated side of the cars screen. Rivian can keep 2/3 of the screen and your phone can own the other 1/3. Giving the user the ability to own that side and configure however they like would be awesome.

Waze. This is the single biggest reason I keep my iPhone on a mount next to the main display.

GaiaGPS and TrailsOffroad would be nice, but also just run Gaia on my phone while off-road which allows me to keep the cameras turned on. What would be better would be trail camera view *with* relevant gauges like trip meter, off-road mode selector, etc.

Lack of texting support will be a minor thing once they release the update that allows a wheel button to access Siri instead of Alexa...at that point it'll basically give the same interface that CarPlay does for texting.

Would be nice if the built-in mapping solution had the ability to display weather radar. I suspect something like that may be coming to the future Sirius XM interface, but I'd rather not need an XM subscription for it when there's no way it'll work off-grid anyway. Most of the time I'm on the trail there's no cell service. Not including a hardware XM receiver was kind of a miss for an adventure vehicle.

Continued, deeper integration with ABRP will be nice and fully expected in the future. I do hope that soon they'll include %SoC in their navigation estimates where we currently only get a nebulous "miles" estimate that's mostly meaningless.

I wish they'd just focus on it being a "Notifications" app instead. My watch does this perfectly -- let me choose the apps I want to notifications to be passed through from. Pop out a flyover when they come up and let me hit a steering wheel button to have them read aloud or to scroll through a quick reply / response. Locking it to just texting would be so disappointing -- I never text, it's all WhatsApp or Signal.
