What burning questions do you all have?
Mine:
-which paint is the free option? I’m holding out hope that LE has all for free (incentive for early build with bugs and no lidar).
-how much are the other paint options?
-how much are the wheel options?

Reg FD would preclude any Rivian employees reading the forums from posting, particularly about unlainched products as that could be deemed material non-public information and is required then to be shared to all investors equally at the same time.

Esker Silver is the base, no cost option. All others will cost, even for the LE.

Went to my Normal Rivian employee's house to watch bball games Friday. Software engineer. He said some employees are "driving them around" now (low & behold I saw one charging at Peoria HyVee yesterday). He is going to wait on lidar version, but he thinks it will be 2028 before there is any additional functionality over the non-lidar version AND subscription will be even higher. He thinks only tech nerds will buy it. Is optimistic the new assembly lines will get rid of the QC issues. He doesn't have anything to do with it, but everyone has been really happy with early builds.

Questions? There can be many in different categories. If managent and/or emoyees monitor these forums they can hype the product with bimonthly detailed information releases. One can be about charging ( show us the charging curve-how warm does the battery get with preconditioning) another about cargo space ( show us photos of stuff put onto the vehicle- car camping) another detailing software information and usage. All this can/could boost the number of orders created in June. Rivian needs an infusion of customer cash..

Guarantee there are lots of employees on this forum, they just don't identify themselves.
Over on the Ford Mach-E forum there is a person who is paid by Ford to post and comment with official voice of Ford. For me, it buys a lot of goodwill. Rivian should do the same.

Add if the cloud interior is also additional pricing and how much.

The Lucid Forum does something similar. This approach certainly wouldn't hurt Rivian. Surprised they haven't, honestly.

Rivian does exactly what you are asking about, just not here. They give "influencers" advanced information to release when Rivian management decides it is time to do so and in a controlled, official manner.

When the R1 was released, Rivian said that they would pretty much exclusively communicate online only on Reddit r/Rivian. Wassym was doing a periodic interview with one of the mods, but I haven't seen that for over a year. I check that sub only ocasionally, perhaps someone knows a bit more about why those discussions went away. Wassym does monitor and sometimes respond, he did respond to my post several years ago.

I do know of companies that don't want employees posting/providing information online as a condition of employment. It's too easy for something to be exposed that should not be. I really can't blame them or Rivian for wanting to control the release of information.

There are definitely employees here and on Reddit. They've posted before. When the R1 initially released to employees, though they didn't post/comment much, they were out there.

Thanks for the link: A Rivian job was actually a consideration for a post-retirement gig (3 months and 2 days...not that I'm counting). That would be pretty good timing, dontchya think?

I know little about Rivians in general, but it seems likely that R2 option pricing would be very similar to R1 option pricing. You can go there right now and see what R1 paint, interior, etc. option upcharges are. Perhaps R2 might be slightly less following proportional size ratio due to smaller raw material quantities required?
