*edit - No idea with regard to NDAs, but during the R1 launch, nothing was reported by an employee. At least not anything that was un-covered to be so.
They couldn't mention being under an NDA because they were under an NDA 😆

It's like the first rule of Usenet...

LOL .... People who purchase for the purpose of making revenue generating content, can write off the depreciation as a business expense are not "real" customers. Real customers are when the company is confident enough to mass produce and deliver to some random family who use it for real world uses, and have nothing to gain from owning the car.
I'm sorry, you lost me with your argument by essentially saying, "sorry, if you own a business and use your car in your business and write off the car as depreciation as a business expense, you aren't a real customer of that car"

If they bought the car, they are a customer. That is the definition of customer. What they do with the product after they bought it doesn't matter. They own it. Whether they use it, sell it, or set it on fire, it's still in their name, they still own the bills on it, depreciation or not. They aren't getting the car for free.

Also, a lot of those influencers keep those cars because they like it. Marquis kept his R1T, Out of Spec has like 2 right now that they use for content sure, but also every day items, State of Charge has said he plans to keep his R2, not just for content but as a primary vehicle in his house. They are real customers who want the car as a car. They just so happen to make money on it.

I have to agree with this. It seems as though people on here feel that they get to pick and choose who is a "legitimate" Rivian customer. Who cares?!

We'll all get our vehicles... no need to put other people down in the process.

Is there any evidence that the employees that are outright buying these R2's are under any NDAs or are required to data log, etc?
Execs and corporate folks are, once they start delivering to regular lower level employees it won't require an NDA or data logging.

For what it's worth, someone on the subreddit who claims to work on the R2 line did confirm after the tornado incident a few days ago that they are "only producing a very limited amount" of R2s per day currently.

Between 25-50 R2s are being created per day since last Monday.

Thank you for saying this. I'm a small influencer but I love the Rivian brand not because I want a vehicle for my business or to review, but to share what great vehicles they build, what can be improved, and to help others get into the EV world. I am still purchasing or leasing the car and paying it with my money. Extremely unfair for someone to say "you aren't a real customer of that car" because you make some content.

Good to know 125-250 a week. For Q2 that means over a thousand. Blows the analyst estimate of 400 out of the water.
And it'll only grow as they optimize manufacturing and get better at it.

That’s a pretty wide range, but assuming 50, and a quality 250 per week is exactly where I would put them at this phase of initial production. My estimate for Q3 would be closer to 500 per week and by end of Q4 closer to 750-1000 per week. That’s the quality scaling they need to be able to do in order to go into 2027 with a full head of steam.

That means I might get on in late 2027. Being a late reservation holder.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. Many people are going to be waiting for the sub $50k model(s), which are mid to late next year at best if we are being honest. The difference between $58k LE and $45k standard is huge for a lot of people.

I am also a late reservation holder and I give it 50/50 odds I can snag a Premium model by late 2026 or early 2027.
