I really hope they deliver for everyone who it really is for.
I don't have range anxiety/needs beyond what either R1 provides. I don't need all the off-roading capabilities, like the locking diffs. Camping features are great for me on the Rivians. And style-wise I really like the Rivian design...
So I didn't think about the fact that you can carry extra fuel around with the range extender, possibly extending that added range even further. So I will take back what I said. It doesn't seem fully like a gimmick but it simply feels weird. The infrastructure and technology is likely to be...
The range extender sounds cool but it seems pointless to me. Why not just have an EV with 450 range? or even 500 range? Seems like they didn't bother or gave up on developing something new and just took what tech is available now and slapped it together.
We're already at 400+ miles in a large...
I agree. The SUV looks pretty great to me. The truk looks boring somehow. I could see myself with an R1T and a Traveler. But more likely I'll still end up with an R1T and R3X combo. At least for what we've seen so far.
The badging almost is there. If it was just limited to the back position. The "Scout" badge in the front is gaudy imo. It looks overall decent if I'm being honest. I think the bench front seat is a cool idea. All the buttons seem annoying to me. Some buttons are fine, but they went with a few...
Glad to hear the one recommended by @sizotty is one folks here have used successfully. I bought it recently because I thought I'd need it but turned out the campsite had a 50 AMP I could use instead.
Would be cool if the screen UI skin/costume is active during drive and just not park. It'd be so much cooler. Also they could easily sell skins like this for normal daily use and make even more money. Would be cool to have skins that aren't just changing the ambient light color. =D
I saw somewhere, maybe it was this thread, someone saying how you cant charge it properly though from the hitch leads. Jump, to be able to do minimal things with the car, but I thought that's it.
I seriously think the parts Rivian were able to obtain were just not the best or optimal in the beginning. Something that can only improve with time and probably already has.
Miles/hr is a very strange way to show charge speed imo. I would change it to miles/hr. You have to tap the text of the charge rate if I'm remembering correctly to swap the units.
I have charged over 80, maybe like 85% maybe 90% once, but I think that's what the navi software suggested, but...
You love to see it. I wish they coulda caught my issue but it seems like there likely is multiple causes for 12V related issues. But this is good stuff!
Also, so much for my recent critical battery issue putting me off on getting an R1T. My kids saw me look at R1Ts last night again and ratted me out to my partner immediately who questioned me saying 'We just had the Rivian die on us and you said you weren't sure about the truck anymore'.
What...
I was gonna say you should google these things and it should be easy to find, but I tried a quick search myself and it's not readily apparent in the first few results so that sucks. Glad that compatibility setting seems to resolve the issues. Not great that it took so much effort and community...
