Rivian over-promised and couldn't deliver a Max Pack Quad Motor. And they took your money and led you on. That's terrible. But, this is probably the best way to handle this situation.
Or you can get some significant money off, stay with the Max Pack, and get dual motor instead of quad. That seems like the most logical play here. Especially considering the main use case for quad motors is extreme rock crawling and extreme off-road conditions. The dual motor should be just fine...
I read the email as a hard "no". Pretty sure that was the entire point of the email.
" Quad-Motor + Max pack will not be selectable in the configurator beginning in early 2023. "
The email says pretty clearly that your options are either Max Pack and dual motor or quad motor large pack. Quad...
Is anyone talking about how by removing these options/gear from the configurator, now you have to pay cash for them in the gear shop? Previously, when they could be added to the vehicle configurator, they were considered options and included as part of your overall vehicle amount and loan.
It...
In Texas we don't have much snow, but lots of wet slick mud. I do not like how the Rivian handles in the slick conditions at all. I think the computer really takes over when driving in the slick conditions and really compromises the driving experience and intuitive control. I've noticed that the...
I agree with you. But I also don't think that Carl was trying to persuade anyone they didn't' need a feature. He even said something along the lines of "I'm not going to tell you what you need, but I will tell you if it is illogical."
I think he has a really good point about the tie-down hooks...
If you are playing music using Spotify, it likely has nothing to do with the FOB. Spotify will "jump" between which device is playing (your Rivian and headphones/phone) when you are close enough to the Rivian. I've experienced the same thing and It is pretty annoying.
I've tried to use it twice. Both times were when I was near the vehicle and had issues of Spotify 'jumping" between the car and the speaker. Very frustrating. Haven't used it since.
It's almost like these OTA Updates are more useful for Rivian Marketing than actual owners. They sent out emails, social media, articles, etc. about this "Roomy Entry and Exit Feature"...meanwhile, it doesn't really work.
3 out of 4 times I try to use Alexa, it says "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble connecting to the internet". It even does this for vehicle commands like "open the trunk" that should require no internet.
How do I fix this issue? I've done several infotainment resets.
Everyone here commenting on the dude's personality and how bad the video is...but also completely ignoring the real world issues of charging. Most people buying an EV are newbs and this video shows a very accurate real-world experience of traveling long distances with an EV. It SUCKS (right...
The phone app if you can even call it that is horrendous. I can't make calls without using my cell phone. First world problems for sure. But my 5 year old Jeep had better phone software controls than my Rivian. I am very disappointed that Rivian hasn't improved this yet.
I think people are more referring to how Rivian markets itself as an electric ADVENTURE vehicle. Not a perfect vehicle. If it can't handle cold weather and icy/snowy conditions, that's a big miss on the ADVENTURE aspect.
Being able to turn Gear Guard on and off via the app is HUGE. This simple action makes the entire feature much more useable. Before, it was either On or Off.
For my uses, I found it more convenient to leave GG off. It was just too annoying to use, click out of every time, and I never checked...
