Rivian likely believes that (g)(3) requires them to update the sticker since adding a spare tire changes the GVWR. I’m not here to argue whether it makes sense or not, but at least they are doing their best to follow Federal Regulations.
So for everyone raising a stink about why Rivian forces you to come to the service center to have the spare tire installed, it is most likely related to the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567:
https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/section-567.4
Specifically:
49 CFR 567.4(a): Each manufacturer of...
Roll out has apparently started. Woke up to the notification this morning that I had the update. What’s interesting, update timing has changed from the 80 minutes previously shown down to 65.
I would agree. Internal fan seems to be running higher and blowing more cold air than before. Compressor seems to run a bit louder but not objectionable especially considering it is cooling the interior better.
No problems with turn signal cancelling after a normal turn. As others have indicated, the only time it doesn’t is when the steering angle of the turn is not sharp enough (very rare for me). If your signals aren’t consistently turning off, you should log a service issue.
I just don’t see that big of a difference between a CCS and an NACS connector. I came to Rivian from Tesla so I’m familiar with both. From my standpoint, it is a connector that connects to the car. You insert, it clicks, it connects. I really don’t car what the “form” of the connector is...
Try doing a hard reset (left steering wheel button and flasher button). I had a problem a year ago on a road trip where I couldn’t charge at three different stations. Turned out first charger station which was defective corrupted the internal communications of the truck. The reset/reboot...
Had the FSAM work done on Wednesday. Was told by call center that it would take three hours so was expecting to just wait on the work. Arrived at the service center and was told it would take five hours of uninterrupted time to do the work and truck would likely be ready Friday afternoon...
Yep, happens to me also about the same way as you describe. I’ve always chalked it up to being in a poor cell reception area. I figured it ran out of streamed material and paused until I got to a better cell signal area.
I don’t want to get caught with it closed and deciding it won’t open when I really need it. I’ll take the efficiency loss (if it is even measurable) of leaving it open.
Mine has started doing the same. Contacted Rivian and they had me do a tonneau cover recalibration. Didn’t help. They’ve put me on the list of failed covers. I was able to completely open the cover so will leave it in that position until a repair is available.
I would suggest that if the error hasn’t cleared after a sleep cycle, do a hard reboot (left steering wheel button and hazard light) and see if that clears it. I had an EA station error/crash on me this past summer and it corrupted several of the systems in the truck, namely DCFC. A hard...
I did a quick test this past week when I was on a biz trip. Truck was parked in the garage (roughly 35-40 degrees) charged to 85%. Pulled the charger as i was leaving. Phone was with me far away from truck, checked via app no more than once a day. Over 3.5 days (roughly 80 hours) I lost 7...
Also look at Plugshare and check out the charging stations along the US route to see if they are up and working. South Dakota doesn’t have a lot of chargers online yet (appears they are building some that will make the route doable in a few months).
Swung by the Saginaw, MI location this weekend. No progress in the last several months. They have the transformer and another cabinet set, but no pedestals.
I used the standard HD outside 100’ extension cord with the Rivian portable charger for several days to charge my R1T. This was on a 15A circuit and worked like a charm. In 3 days, it gave me more than enough of a charge to get off of Cape Code without issue.
