I believe the app is showing the total time the charger is connected to the truck, not the total actual charging time. As for the green light, it is possible the state of charge had dropped and it was topping off.
I documented a trip this summer from mid-MI to the western slopes of CO. Westbound was was more problematic than the return. Going westbound, temps were above 100 degrees and it seemed to be impacting the Electrify America chargers (slowing rates dramatically). This was occurring both my R1T...
While it isn’t optimal, check out the ChargePoint at the Apollo Career Center, 3325 Shawnee Rd, Lima, OH. I’ve had to hit it for 15-20 minutes when on that route to get from Ann Arbor down to Dayton.
Having made a trip from mid-MI to CO this summer, make sure you have the following charging apps: EA and sign up for the monthly plan as it lowers your fees quite a bit; ChargePoint; EVGo. Use PlugShare to validate the EA chargers are working. Especially check the Ogallala, NE EA site as it...
I’ve found the truck sometimes makes illogical decisions about charging. Sometimes it will route you to a slow(er) charger (like a 50kw one) when there’s a faster charger (like EA) that may be a bit further out of route. Sometimes going a bit further out of route to hit a faster charger will...
PlugShare is great for checking out charging stations and validating they’re working as you can’t always believe the EA app. In addition, it can be relatively real time. Please contribute by checking in and letting other users know your experience at a specific station and/or pedestal/dispenser.
While I generally agree with your sentiments, I also have to comment that as an R1T owner who has used a Tesla Destination charger (via adapter), I’m behaving no differently than a Bolt or Polestar user hooking up to a Rivian charger. Ultimately, we need more destination chargers and fast...
Actually there has been progress. In the PlugShare pics, there’s a concrete pad to the left of the white switch box. That’s now got a Consumer’s Energy transformer sitting on it. My pics don’t show it.
Found the location for the proposed Saginaw, MI charger. Charger is being put in at the Target/Staples parking lot at 2772 Tittabawasee Rd, Saginaw, MI.
Transformer from Consumers Energy is set as well as ”service switchboard”. Looks like it pretty much just needs the chargers and for wiring...
Since Rivian can conceivably use any CCS equipped charger, why do you want/need something Rivian specific? I use PlugShare all the time and have it set up to filter for CCS chargers if I want to do fast charging and then optionally add in J-1772 if I'm going to be somewhere for a longish time.
Software version 2022.39.1 had a known issue where it disabled some of the air compressors. Version 2022.39.3 fixed this issue. If you’re still running 39.1, log a service issue via the app. They reached out to me in a matter of hours and then pushed the 39.3 update to me.
I entered my review on Friday and Amazon just posted it. There’s normally a couple days of lag before my Amazon reviews get posted. Perhaps the same is occurring for you.
Got mine today after waiting over a month for it. It fits perfectly once you jam It in but there’s no way it is easily coming out so you can access the storage area under it. Fortunately, Amazon has already issued me a refund and I don’t have to return the item. It has already gone to the...
I don’t think it is a case of the R1T not liking 350kw EA chargers. I think it is more of a case of the EA hardware being poorly made/maintained. I’ve successfully charged on EA 350kw chargers, but not frequently. Based on a recent thread, there’s not much time difference between using a...
I think charging stations are going to be like the gas station model. Gas stations make very little money on the gas they sell. They make their money on selling drinks, snacks, etc.
Having done a couple of long road trips in my R1T, I can tell you that if the charger is at a location like a...
