FWIW, It’s working again, after 2023.38.0 update. Was a solid reproducible fail every time before the update…

Doesn’t seem to be working…will have to call Rivian
  4. iOS 17 and Camp Speaker?

Thx, hadn’t done that yet but it’s on the list!
  5. iOS 17 and Camp Speaker?

I know, you can laugh at me, but we actually use the Camp Speaker a lot! Mostly for playlists for exercise, but sometimes for camping too. However, though it’s worked fine for 15 months, my iPhone 13 now can’t connect. I’ve restarted the speaker and my phone. It was all fine until I updated to...
  6. Blue Ridge Parkway weekend trip with R1T towing new Aliner camper

A “cassette toilet” which is hooked to the water system for flushing. It has a small holding tank which can be dumped in a campground toilet or an RV dump station. Convenient for middle of the night pee trips.
  7. Blue Ridge Parkway weekend trip with R1T towing new Aliner camper

    That’s what’s nice about the Aliner. It’s like 8 feet in the “A” ?
  8. Blue Ridge Parkway weekend trip with R1T towing new Aliner camper

There is another that’s an off season visitor. That one visits ocean front near the Lee St/Ocean intersection…
  9. Blue Ridge Parkway weekend trip with R1T towing new Aliner camper

It works well for taking a pee in the middle of the night. For more serious stuff, it would be a last resort if there was no campground toilet…
  10. Blue Ridge Parkway weekend trip with R1T towing new Aliner camper

    It’s 60 x 80, and yes I can stretch out ?
  11. Two drivers — which one gets priority?

So funny! Us too…my wife just closes the app an her phone unless she wants to drive.
  12. Blue Ridge Parkway weekend trip with R1T towing new Aliner camper

I posted a trip report a little over a week ago (July 21), on camping on the BRP near Meadows of Dan VA. One of the stops on that trip was to look at an Aliner hard side pop up camper. We’d been looking at all sorts of small campers since I got my R1T in June of 2022. We looked at Meerkats...
  13. Met Dennis, maintainer of east coast RAN chargers at Meadows of the Dan VA

We are back in the Meadows of the Dan area this weekend. Charging at the MoD station. Met Dennis, and chatted while we (and he) charged (he has LA Silver/Mountain black R1T like me ?). He said that the Cherokee charger at the south end of the Parkway should be live today. Also, the MoD charger...
  14. Blue Ridge Parkway camping, nice RAN chargers; downhill with a tailwind

A quick 2 night camping trip near Meadows of the Dan in southern VA. We spent a few days visiting the grandkids in Centreville (my son has two 50 amp NEMA 14-50 plugs in his garage), then went over to the Shenandoah Valley on I-66 and I-81. Stopped for an errand in Roanoke VA. Used the RAN...
  15. First Tow to the Ramp...... R1T towing 20' Grady White Boat

Or it depends on your trailer. My boat is a Whaler 235 Conquest with a hard top, so no question, have to use the mirrors… ?
  16. North Carolina (Raleigh) Rivian Fans

…and I didn’t answer the “how” and that is tell the DMV person how much weight you need…
  17. North Carolina (Raleigh) Rivian Fans

Looks like you got the answer! My boat (whaler 235 conquest)/motor/trailer/fuel/gear is about 7000 pounds, hence the 15,000 pounds. Sounds like you’d want 11,000 (unless you are shopping for a bigger boat ?). The Rivian itself needs a weighted plate based on curb weight and capacity w/o a trailer…
  18. North Carolina (Raleigh) Rivian Fans

A reminder about NC weighted plates. Yes, it applies to trucks and not SUVs as I understand it. They key is you should not just accept the GVW weight for an R1T if you plan on pulling a utility trailer, boat trailer, horse trailer, etc. You need to license additional “weight” as the combined...
  19. Sleep/wake cycle observations

Interesting observations about the Rivian’s “sleep-wake” cycle. First, a bit of background. I’m in Barcelona getting ready to get on a the Dave Koz Jazz Cruise (Tough gig, but someone’s gotta do it!). We have solar at home with storage (2x Powerwall)and are 100% self consumption. So we try to...
