So, when you're connected to a tender, it won't draw the same as if you don't. Since there will be no need to charge the 12V, the computers won't do a full 'wake' and hence that results on less power draw.
You go to the settings App/Service and there's a toggle in that menu that puts the truck...
I think you need to disconnect both the High Voltage and the 12V Batteries and that's basically a full shutdown. I don't know if you will have any Error Lights or messages once the truck is back as I never performed this myself. My guess is that it should be OK as it should be the same procedure...
A few points:
1. +1 on the gvmt wasting money.
2. I'm not rich, I'm just an idiot with my finances :)
3. EV Tax credits I think are due to be fully removed. Personal opinion.
Correct. Idle might mean a lot of things (charging being one of those), but basically NOT sleeping.
What normal cycles look like depends on which configuration you have. My dual 12V Batteries Gen1 Quad motor can sleep for 10+ hours when the 12V batteries are in top shape (check screenshots on...
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I'm at the same-ish boat here. Two weeks after PPF, got a nicely sized dent right above the right-rear wheel.
Can you briefly describe the process to remove the wheel well liner and trim to access the area?
Thanks!
Still the same.
When to replace it? we don't know for real, I'd monitor the charge/discharge cycles in Electrafi.com and if your truck doesn't sleep for longer than 2hrs in a row without GearGuard or a key nearby, then it might be time for replacement.
Great to have another datapoint!
I've seen several non-recommendations from former Tesla ohmmu owners with concerns about Quality. How long has it being since you installed it?
I see you're too from TX, people from much colder climates are more concerned about the behavior of the battery...
At least my wife's Model3 battery is bigger than the Rivian's . Also, I don't know for a fact if Tesla needs to fully wake their computers or not. Rivian (evidently) does.
At this moment, I doubt that this can be solved with a software update... Seems like in order to top-off the 12V, a full "computer wake" is required and maybe that requires a hardware fix rather than just a software one.
I've mine wired directly to the battery leads like @NY_Rob did HERE
If you can access your battery directly, it's definitely an option. OBDII will limit at 3A (more than enough TBH), I have 2x5A Noco battery tenders.
