Ohhh, then they definitely F-it up with me. I got full details of dates, warranty, work done in which SC. Itemized lists, etc.
Owner information was refracted but easy to find in the frunk with some paperwork present there (not rivian's fault though) ?
Don't think they've found anything particular with yours.
My take? A recall costs a LOT of money and floods the Service Center with request. Rivian doesn't need those two things. Also, they would be forced to fix those who are past-warranty.
They're silently and proactively replacing 12Vs...
Then that makes sense. The owner can then request that and share it with you :) Otherwise, once ownership is transferred you can request this yourself, of course.
Overall, and being honest, I feel much better today buying a SLIGHTLY used Rivian rather than a brand-new one.... Again... Today :)...
Wow... I had luck then... I had a complete report in XLS from Rivian... Maybe because I was buying one sitting in a Used car dealership?
Is yours from a Private party?
I use what's more convenient for me. I do understand people not using a brand/product because it doesn't align with their morals/opinions or whatever, I'm all for that.
IF I have the option between A and B, and I have not great feelings about A, then I would use B even if it's a bit more...
Call Rivian and they will provide you with the EXACT remaining warranty for that VIN and also the past service items completed on that VIN. I did that in July 2024 before purchasing my 2022 R1T with 4800 miles.
Dang it...
I think you're in for a treat here with the work you'll need to do. I've checked THIS video and removing the cover from the bottom seat doesn't seem TOO complicated.
There seems to be one cable (assuming for the heated seat) and then only some elastic hooks?
Make sure to leave your R1T plugged into an L2 at all times when not using it. That will reduce (remove?) the chances of shutting itself off and complicating the 12V replacement. I know it's only one day but... better safe than sorry. :)
I think it's independent of Romex or not... Solid Copper 6awg wire is rated for 55amps (temperature has slight variations, but let's forget that). So as long as that's what you have, you should be ok.
In THEORY (and I wouldn't recommend this) 8awg should be able to withstand the same amperage...
