So you only lost 14% of expected range on a big climb in 30 degrees on AT tires? That is really encouraging. My primary range goal is to make it 185 miles to my ski cabin without a charge stop, looks like it's doable even on ATs. Looks like average speed was in the 50s, were you doing any...
Preconditioning would help. It also sounds like the OP let the truck sit in the driveway overnight so he left with a very cold battery and cabin. If it had been charging right before departure and the truck was pre-warmed it would have helped. I hope there is a way to warm the battery while...
Thank you! I thought we were going to have to wait until winter to get cold weather results.
You said you charged then let it sit in the driveway. Was the battery cold when you departed?
Rivian had repeatedly said the vehicles being sold today will be charging at 300 kw via software updates. This is old but is the basis of the claim: https://insideevs.com/news/427197/rivian-electric-truck-patent-charging-rate/amp/
So looking for maximum cold weather range but I need snow tires. What would the drawback be to getting the 21” wheels for the extra 40 miles range but using Nokian 275 50R21 snow tires instead of the 55R21 Pirellis? 5cm smaller diameter just means the speedometer would be a bit off?
I love both, but the R1S has a slightly off back end, a bit of junk in the trunk and the black roof in the back should maybe match the paint color and have a less sharp angle.
So it’s a close one? For me after I pass the last charger on the route I still need to go 70 miles to my destination
So I should get the 21s then? But I need snow tires!
