  1. What is your guess for the Day the 1st Rivian is delivered to a Customer?

@DuckTruck Did they tell you that factory pick up would be an option? Is that course they built for purchasers to drive later?
  2. New video "Let's Just Drive" & official letter from RJ provides huge update!

What if I want to tank turn on a road that’s covered in snow? Probably won’t allow it since that road is typically just asphalt. It would be nice to be given the choice. Between this “feature” and the driver+ insurance thing, I’m getting worried may be a bit of a nanny. Also worried about all...
  3. New video "Let's Just Drive" & official letter from RJ provides huge update!

It’s more than a switch. You’ll need a separate sub panel with so e of your breakers moved over. you shouldn’t transfer over all of your 200 amp panel to be covered by a 48 or 80 amp inverter.
  4. New video "Let's Just Drive" & official letter from RJ provides huge update!

I’m worried they might be trying to tackle too much, too fast. Developing their own cells, multiple vehicles simultaneously, self driving, several manufacturing sites, etc…. At least they dropped the full self driving with lidar and the Ford/Lincoln project, however I would appreciate more focus.
  5. New video "Let's Just Drive" & official letter from RJ provides huge update!

People are way too hung up in this. The electrical work you’ll need to do to your home will be seriously expensive. Then you won’t be able to have a back up unless you are home. What happens when you’re at work with your truck and your family is home? You need to leave early to get home? Also...
  6. New video "Let's Just Drive" & official letter from RJ provides huge update!

I was mean about it, but I actually think this is some promising info. However, I still have many questions.
  7. New video "Let's Just Drive" & official letter from RJ provides huge update!

“Soon” turned into “right around the corner”. Much better…right? There’s even a driving pun.
  8. Rivian plans own charging network called Rivian Adventure Network!

Tesla’s plans here may have just doomed Rivian’s. They might not want to be the world’s only brand exclusive charging network.
  9. Rivian plans own charging network called Rivian Adventure Network!

I must say that I don’t really care anymore if Rivian builds it’s own network now that Tesla’s is supposed to open up. I’m already planning on buying an adapter without even seeing the cost. How much would you be willing to pay for one. I honestly would pay $500 without hesitation.
  10. Insurance Cost / Quotes / Premiums Thread

That's cool we have so many USAA members here. I'm really hoping they stay competitive with the insurance prices because I really like them. I have yet to ever make an insurance claim (knock on wood), but I enjoy their customer service when I do have a question and their rates have been very low...
  11. Insurance Cost / Quotes / Premiums Thread

Sure. That's why I also compared to a new hybrid F-150 and the Raptor. Those two are considerably less than the Rivian though.
  12. Insurance Cost / Quotes / Premiums Thread

I meant 2011. That's the vehicle this Rivian is replacing.
  13. Insurance Cost / Quotes / Premiums Thread

I was poking around on my USAA insurance page and it looks like Rivian is up and running on there. Got an instant quote. For reference my payment nearly doubles compared to my 2011 F-150 FX4. They want about $600 extra every six months for just the "R1T ADVENTURE". I'm also wanting to get the...
  14. What will be the EPA rating for the 135KWh R1T?

Whether the EPA requires it or not, a great thing Rivian can do to inform it's customers is split out ranges between highway and city. None of the other EV manufacturers do this and I think it confuses buyers coming from ICE vehicles. Most of us are used to great range on long highway drives. If...
  15. Senate $40k cap on ev tax credit

I’ve got some configuration remorse right now. If this or something like this gets signed into law and I can’t get the $7,500 credit then the max pack I chose is essentially a $19,300 add-on (max pack + tax credit + wheel upgrade) compared to the launch edition that I may have been able to get...
  16. Tax Credit Amendment

Is the tax incentive to reduce financial hardships or is it there to reduce carbon emissions? I think it's there to reduce carbon emissions. If that's the case then scale the tax credit based on battery size. So many people are driving around in Chevy Tahoes that I think can be convinced of an...
  17. Tax Credit Amendment

This is ridiculous. The purpose of the tax credit is to move people away from gas guzzlers to zero emission vehicles. The best selling vehicles in America (trucks) are mostly over $40,000 sales price and are the biggest polluters. If a vehicle is small and under $40k then the effect of the...
  18. ANYONE NOTIFIED OF SEPTEMBER DELIVERY?

My max pack R1T still shows "Deliveries begin January 2022". Do we know if all of the Launch Edition vehicles need to be delivered before the first max pack vehicle?
  19. Rivian Customer Service: SiriusXM Radio will not be native part of the entertainment system

Maybe Sirius will work through Alexa. the integration there isn't too bad. Maybe we just need to ask Alexa for everything now. I would prefer not to have to talk to my car to skim through channels though. And where did you hear about no AM radio? Is that true also? WTF? No baseball broadcasts...
  20. Rivian Customer Service: SiriusXM Radio will not be native part of the entertainment system

They'd better have an excellent solution for streaming Sirius that doesn't require me to operate my phone while I drive and also works anywhere (even without cell service). Streaming from my phone is going to be a total hassle. Not having a built in Sirius antenna will be a major mis-step for...
