I wonder if this is why Rivian changed cruise and Driver+ to a new "pull towards you" motion on the gear select stalk. Pulling down while already in Drive pops up a "do this instead" notification.
I was seeing $50k lightly used R1Ts as well late last year. I figured that would always be high compared to many of the early adopters when the truck was $70k new, but perhaps back before Gen1 was out of stock, we were already seeing $90-100k trims for new vehicles, and that made a 50% discount...
I had an auth for some amount on one warranty visit, they never charged it (invoice was $0.00).
On my last warranty visit they didn't request an auth at all, the initial work order estimate said $0.00.
I'm not sure when one process is used versus the other, but in the end, I was never charged.
I swear, not 6 months ago I was hearing how Rivians had some of the worse EV resale value around, with low-mileage quads going for $50k. Now, I'm hearing that that Rivian is a shining exception to the rest of the industry.
Am I remembering wrong, or did something change that caused this...
Routers are all just "best-guessing" at devices, base on tables of MAC addresses and maybe some optional data being passed along. My iPhones rotate MAC addresses for privacy and some days they show up as Android devices, iMacs, Alexas, or smart lights, mostly randomly. What any device is...
The recent change to make climate instant helps a lot. That's the one control I've really found myself "waiting for" a lot, and frankly it requires taking your eyes off the road for a beat or two too long if it lags. So it's great that Rivian is focusing on that.
Generally speaking though, for...
There are a lot of things about it that are just more "American truck-like" in terms of being more utilitarian and cheap. But I think some of the other trims, like the Sierra Denali, that are supposed to be much more refined inside.
It's been a few weeks without rain/wash, and I have a water droplet right In front of the camera lens under the cover.
Is there any way to get this out, or is it a service call?
I am up for anyone who pushes the envelope on range. The GM trucks definitely aren't efficient, BUT they more than make up for it by going gonzo on the battery sizes. Meanwhile Tesla capped out at 100kwh like a decade ago it feels like, and when the CT finally broke through that ceiling, they...
Thanks. So I guess my question is this:
On the Rivian site, it seems the Quad will also support the current non-staggered wheelsets (22" sport or 20" AT wheels/tires). So if it has flared fenders and a deeper wheel well for the staggered wheels, what will they do if you buy it with...
Got it, thanks much.
For the sake of anyone else who might go this route, I took some measurements.
With an OEM 21" wheel/tire lying flat in the bed, it's 86mm from the top of the wheel hub to the top of the threads in the spare tire well. It's 116mm from the top of the wheel hub the bottom of...
Yeah, I tried holding down the button for 2-5 seconds and I could hear/feel clicks happening, but it never pulled out the magic dock. Happened at a couple of different stations, and I figured I was doing it wrong or they had to actually enable the docks or something.
In the end, it was easier...
Yeah, I didn't really ask the question I was thinking - using a 21" as a spare:
1. Is the linked screw long enough to clear the height of the wheel but short enough not to bottom out at whatever is at the end of the spare tire well? Sounds like the answer should be "yes" to both?
2. Is the...
Thanks everyone. I think I"m mostly sorted here.
I'm carrying the following with the spare:
1. Maxpower 2-piece levered lug wrench
2. Rigor 22mm non-marring lug nut socket.
3. Torin 10T bottle jack (in a plastic box in case it leaks)
4. 2 Magjaxx jack pucks
5. A couple of 2x4" wood blocks for...
Is there a trick to getting the Magic Dock connection out? I've used a couple of these but only the NACS end ever releases. I've tried holding down the button and pushing up, but couldn't get the CCS adapter to come loose. I always ended up having to use my own.
