RJ has also stated they had all the parts and supplies they needed to build all LE vehicles in 2022. So Rivian either lied then, is choosing to delay R1S in quantity for other reasons, or cannot follow through on the supplies it said it has.
Not all of that is necessarily Rivian’s fault but at...
If they can’t get out at least the LE R1S I am not sure how it is anything other than a choice to screw half the reservation base with the hope they get a bunch of cancellations.
This sounds bad for the R1S for sure. I think the key will be if they try to get the R1S LEs out this year. If I recall correctly, the original windows had LEs done in Q3 2021. Do they still plan to finish that out? I fear no or they could have said so in this communication.
Glad we got theoretical, public confirmation that deliver updates roll out next week. I expect it will take weeks - if not months - for everyone with a 2022 window to get an update.
Still, why does it take missing the deadline and then replying to a tweet to get even that much info?
I feel terrible for OP.
The more of these stories I read the more worried I get about taking deliver - although based on current communication skill of Rivian that may never occur anyway.
I accept some degree of early adapter risk but these stories are getting worse and worse.
If the Reddit post is correct that means CS is not even giving out the same information to everyone today.
If true, why isn’t there a message to everyone stating “we are sorry we are late but we will start rolling out updates in groups starting this week and hope to get everyone updated by...
Being a Guide or CS at Rivian has to be an awful job. Their management has set them up to fail at each turn.
That is also an infuriating response. 5 weeks ago Rivian committed to May!
I'm still waiting for my Guide contact by Thanksgiving of 2021.
They never directly confronted or acknowledged they were not going to follow through with that promised engagement with LE reservation holders.
There are just so many self-inflicted wounds.
If Rivian does not reach out today, it's just another instance where they failed to follow through on a stated communication timeline. It's only been ~6 weeks since the April email promising outreach in late May. How can you keep missing deadline after deadline - self set deadlines - and gain...
If a non-LE R1S order is getting a vehicle (or even info about timing) before 95% of LE orders my level of frustration with Rivian will reach galactic levels.
Not upset with OP but it’s a complete joke how Rivian has treated the rest of us.
Rivian can never hope to come close to Ford’s numbers. At full capacity, the Normal plant can only put out 150,000 vehicles. Ford sells a million F150s a year and plans to produce 150,000 Lightnings alone next year.
I am in the same boat, R1S LE holder, and I had received every email until the last two. I've never updated my email since ordering and double checked all my settings.
Also, why would you send an email to R1T holders with order dates stretching out to the end of the year but not to R1S holders...
