Ah ok, I was wondering what I did wrong lol.
I'm also an engineer and fully agree with everything you said. Sometimes things are made a certain way for a reason. Just because something is big and heavy doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
Also, sometimes we engineers do, in fact, make things...
It's inevitable that someone will try it out soon enough. I'm sure one of the wheel/tire companies will buy a rim and test it out.
I'd be surprised if it didn't fit though. Probably just something Rivian doesn't want to sell to older models.
This. Also the Nokian nAT tires.
While this may be true, the official adapter is the one that both Tesla and Rivian say is required for use at a supercharger. If something were to go wrong with the charger or the truck when you're using the A2Z, it would be you on the hook for that damage. When using the official one, the...
My gripe with the Defenders is that they aren't 3 peak rated for snow use. Being in MN, this is huge as I don't want to source, pay for, and store a whole different set of wheels/tires for winter use for the R1T.
I will likely go with the Nokians for my next tire unless someone finally comes...
If/when they put out a 275/65/20 version of this tire, I think it's where I'm going to go. I'm probably about 6k miles away from needing some new ones and am beyond tired of hearing the OE Pirellis howling the whole time.
Any word on what the new OE AT tire will be from Rivian?
I had it too and was similarly pissed off in my email to them.
I was so irritated that I just ripped it out and installed a Rachio instead because the remote access is something I really valued about the system.
With the price of a 2G R1 tri motor being into the six figures to start, the 1G quad motor presents an amazing value for people while they can still be had, especially if you have a preorder voucher.
The 2G quad is likely to be $110k+ and that's out of reach of most people.
Do you have pics of what the R1 looks like with these tires on?
I'm going to need new tires for my R1T later this year or early next and am looking for where to go from here. I'm not going to take this thing off road any more than a normal dirt/gravel road so it doesn't have to be hugely...
^ Those aren't severe winter rated though correct? That's a must have for me in MN.
I guess I will continue to wait for the right size/ratings to finally come out lol. I'm surprised it has taken as long as it has to be honest.
If there's an update that comes soon to allow one to recalibrate with the in car UI I'll for sure drop down a size. I'm never going to off road this thing and really just have the AT tires because they look cool haha.
I know I could go with the 33" tire size but then I need to go get the whole thing recalibrated and stuff...don't want to deal with that. My Pirellis are noisy AF but still have life left so I can wait a bit longer for additional sizes to hit the market. Right now I'm between these Goodyear...
Nope, not a chance unless there's a big financial incentive to do so. I have no gripes with my 2022 R1T at all and I have a few more years of B2B warranty coverage anyway so I'm going to ride it out a while longer. There's a lot of cool stuff in the Gen 2 models but not enough for me to...
A 240V outlet in the bed is useless to the vast majority of owners. More people will use the air compressor to fill up a variety of things before they use a 240V outlet. Aside from the truck and various hard wired appliances in my house, I don't have anything that runs on 240V. Not even my...
