  1. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

I tried that last night actually. Totally borked the PaaK setup. Had to unpair/repair the BT, then re-setup the key. Truck also went to sleep during that time, so might be that. Hard to tell exactly what the culprit was to be honest. Regardless, one of the 75 stars that were aligned for PaaK to...

ROFL, nice. I thought you were referring to some of the other comments earlier in the thread about my sarcastic comment about using the camera to watch something fly out of the bed, and the insanely aggressive response I got from that. Fun times!
  3. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

Thanks for the tips. Appreciate it!
  4. About to lease a R1T. Need some help.

There's another point here I want to make. The overall experience is important. Rivian only makes 50k trucks a year. That's just a few days F150 production, so they're closer to boats than trucks in terms of manufacturing. Because of that, just like a boat, the service experience can make/break...
  5. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

Yea, the problem I have now is that I have two "homes". The rental where we are currently sleeping, and the new house we just bought. Once I move to sleeping at the new house, then I'll change the "home" location, program the remote, etc. Wish we could GeoFence multiple areas to turn off...

Don't have a bandsaw, but the circular saw made it just fine :D :D
  7. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

Oh, no doubt. We have movers coming for the main furniture. We're only moving 6 miles away, and just trying to get the random crap from the basement, and misc other stuff over there before the movers show up. Good chance we're gonna grab a Uhaul trailer this weekend for all the reasons you...
  8. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

Yeap, sure do. I'm a terrible terrible person and I'm so completely wrong. Better?
  9. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

Thanks buddy. Sometimes I just need to vent to a (mostly) sympathetic crowd.
  10. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

People like me that let a bucket fly out? Give me a break. You think because I made an off hand comment about watching something like that happen that I also don't strap stuff down that could actually be a hazard. Call me out all you want, you're making wild safety assumptions over a sarcastic...
  11. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

I've had an S as a loaner a few times, and came from a Q7 and a Yukon in past vehicles. Totally get the space of an SUV. I will admit though, I think I would miss the gear tunnel. Oldest and I go snowboarding a lot. The Gear tunnel makes a PERFECT place to put our boots and boards. We took the...
  12. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

I had the rear "soft close" strut on my tailgate fail a few weeks ago. In the process, the 14yr old pushed the button and the tailgate slammed down on a chair that was nearby we were about to move. Painteless dent repair guy came out and didn't want to mess with it. He told me those top...
  13. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

When you lower the tailgate, it moves in a VERY large arc. This leads to an opening between the bed and the tailgate. That opening is covered with a flap that "self deploys" when you open it. You can see it here the second time he opens the tailgate.
  14. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

Boy, I bet you're a real peach to be around at parties, eh? I lost a plastic bucket that was in the top of an open tote of "beach crap" that I had in the bed. Spent 5 minutes turning around and 10minutes playing frogger to keep someone from hitting it. If they had, I likely would've been out a...
  15. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

Wife and I bought a house about 6mi away from our rental. So, we're making a ton of small trips to get the small "stuff" over there before movers get here. I've moved a ton of times in my life, with a pickup truck, on a weekend. Rewards of a mis-spent youth I suppose. This thing is the single...
  16. Insulate Your Glass Roof - Improve Comfort, Efficiency

My Sierra has an opening roof and rear window. This side of a full convertible, there is no better solution for great ventilation. Especially in the shoulder seasons when you want that really pleasant air circulating through the cabin. Pop the sunroof up, and crack the rear glass and you got the...
  17. RJ Scaringe interview on Kara Swisher podcast

I had a few shots of patience last night and the kids ran off to play elsewhere so I got the TV for a bit. Watched the interview. Really like RJs energy and demeanor in general. You can tell he has some passion left, and enough sense to not get baited into non-productive discourse. Honestly...
  18. RJ Scaringe interview on Kara Swisher podcast

Less than 20 seconds in before I cringed. Don't talk over your guests lady. I'll try to go back later and watch. Maybe when I've had a couple shots of patience this evening.
  19. Roll away risk and clunky sound from brakes/tires

Something seems awry here. I've parked on very steep sections off-road and the truck never rolled at all. I would consult service. I've been told this is "normal", however the degree to which the Rivian does it, well, it's absurdly loud and aggressive. I'm in Buffalo and get a ton of water/salt...
  20. Rival Tesla Model X to end production

S is a big egg, 3 is a small egg, Y is a medium egg with handles on the back of both doors, X is a medium egg with handles in the middle of the car. CT is the aluminum foil all the eggs came in.
