  1. Burnouts!

There, fixed that for ya :D :D
  2. Burnouts!

OK.....I was speaking in Hyperbole, I didn't do an rigorous calculations. Sure 2k hp is wrong, but cheese and MF'ing rice, it's more than 1k. I know that from being around high powered AWD vehicles the entirety of my conscious existence. I've driven 9 second AWD vehicles that didn't have...
  3. Burnouts!

Cafeteria trays under the rear wheels with the eBrake on. Hilarity will ensue.
  4. Burnouts!

You need 2k+ HP to do a rolling burnout in something that weighs 7k+lbs with modern tires. These trucks are strong, they aren't THAT strong. Your expectations aren't aligned with reality here.
  5. Burnouts!

I'm digging these one word answers. Doing the real work around here.
  6. Burnouts!

They're all AWD with no option to disable back to just RWD (or FWD if that's your thing). You could probably chain one down and disable traction control and get after it. Lot of effort though. Personally, I lost interest in burnouts when my S10 pickup that was a burnout machine, put down 98hp...
  7. Insight from my SC visit re the Rivian SC business decisions

Same reason we have one in Niagara Falls. Isn't because there are a ton of R1's running around up here!
  8. 2 weeks with PaaK that actually works........I'm still not 100% sold; but closer.

I didn't get much of a bump from this update (Gen 1 Large was already quite good), but I'll give you the win as a tangible improvement from an OTA. I agree, strongly, with the "You get what you paid for when you drove it home".......and I'll add on "I liked it the way it was when I drove it...
  9. 2 weeks with PaaK that actually works........I'm still not 100% sold; but closer.

I get it. New cars might not be for me then either. Not claiming to be a luddite here, but I think they're less crazy each day! Current setup in my head is an '08 Audi RS4. About as analog as you can get without straying back to carbureted territory. Pair that with an '18 Lexus GX470 and I have...
  10. 2 weeks with PaaK that actually works........I'm still not 100% sold; but closer.

Gen 2 trucks have the NFC in that space right? I assume yours is a Gen 2? This morning I walked out, truck was awake and preheating per schedule. Doors already unlocked from the night before (proximity disabled at home). I unplug and get in. No key detected. Get out, go inside and grab the fob...
  11. 2 weeks with PaaK that actually works........I'm still not 100% sold; but closer.

App didn't work. Just kept saying "waking vehicle" then nothing happened. It does this quite often when attempting to do anything from the app. If the truck decides to sleep, for whatever reason, the app is useless to control the truck. I do have some nice videos of me trying to get into the...
  12. 2 weeks with PaaK that actually works........I'm still not 100% sold; but closer.

Spoke too soon. It's broke again. Two days, multiple resets of both phone and truck. Deleted and re installed the key. Broke. What a PIA this truck is. For fucks sake, if it would just be consistent at either working or not. I'm over it, back to the fob I go. This is a new error on the phone...
  13. EV torque + snow: friend or foe?

Mother nature changes it for me. It's usually down around 46 when it's below freezing. Closer to 50 in the summer months. I don't purposefully change it.
  14. Door Handle Safety

Well cheese and MFing rice. Looks like Mazda is going with no physical door handles as well. Who in the hell in corporate is approving these designs?!? Emergency door release of the Mazda CX-6e https://search.app/PXEXL
  15. What winter upgrade did you think you'd need… but didn’t?

That's fair. I had K03's on my Sierra and had a similar opinion of them. Off road they were excellent, but pretty much sucked for everything else. Wouldn't balance worth a crap either. The Goodyears I have now aren't excellent at anything, but are OK in general. Honestly, best tires I've had...
  16. Anti-EV agenda

Agreed, and I have an anecdote to support. My '24 R1T was $12/mo LESS to insure than my '17 Q7. Same coverage, same person, same region, same company.
  17. Anyone Know ViaLynk Network?

I've used them a few times. It's the closest fast charger to the Bills stadium (and the house) and located in the back of a large shopping center. Always worked well, and was reasonably priced. Not anything like what you describe though. Streetview doesn't show them, but they're there:
  18. Conversation with my neighbor... Are Rivian's really for rich people?

Right up the road from you in Buffalo. Same scenario here. Rivians are very few and far between. Nobody has any idea what they are, or how much they cost.
  19. Conversation with my neighbor... Are Rivian's really for rich people?

That's also fair. I'll admit, I wouldn't have picked the interior color I have, but otherwise am pretty happy with the option package on mine. They feel mostly "reasonable" in price compared to what you get. Speaking of markups, I'm torn on the "No dealership" model. On one hand we don't have...
  20. Conversation with my neighbor... Are Rivian's really for rich people?

Just went back and checked my paperwork, mine was $82.4k. Quite a bit more (27+% increase) than a $65k TRD Pro. Not sure I would call that barely less. Base price was $69.9k before options though, and that I would agree is barely more than the Tacoma. I'm in the same boat though. Without the...
