You're not wrong, I doubt the Gen 1's get it. With that said, I don't want anything spectacular like UHF for towing, just the basic "autonomy" I have now would be a huge upgrade.
If I towed more, I would definitely look at the Comma. Sucks that a $100k truck with 13 cameras can't do it itself...
Stupid question......Not sure where else to ask. And speaking of being overly conservative.......
Does Rivian let you use Adaptive Cruise, or Lane Keep while towing yet? With this big fancy update, that feels like it could be a big deal.
My boats in storage until spring, so I can't test for...
Couple of thoughts here.
First, welcome to the team. I hope the purchase went smooth, and the truck does well for you!
I agree, they should include both an adapter, and a home/mobile charger. I understand they are working towards bottom line profit, but these are, IMO part of the package. I'm...
Keep an eye out here.

They do an off road trip in PA every year that's a good time. I went twice this year.
Here's the pictures from spring '25 -> https://photos.app.goo.gl/1YEWz43h2shdjfoX6
I thought the OEM Pirellis were pretty OK in deep snow. Slightly better than the Wrangler Territory AT's I have now. Neither is as sure footed as my Audi was on Continentals though. That thing was a tank, even moreso than the Rivian is.
With that said, there isn't a ton of elevation gain in...
TL;DR at the bottom.
I've lamented MANY MANY times how stupid and useless I think PaaK is. Mine has never worked right, been to service a few times, and was always told "working as intended". Even the damn fob doesn't work right half the time. Yet, everyone here (well most here) report how...
Local techs here have a modified BMW, and a modified Mini Cooper. You can tell they're "car guys" by the way they talk, and genuine concern to fix an issue properly.
Had a weird "groan" on full acceleration. Tech called and said he couldn't duplicate it. I asked if he was willing to ride along...
This, quite honestly, is the only reason I haven't sold/traded/ditched mine. For as many issues as it's had, and my constant agitation with it, Rivian customer service has been far better than any other brand I've ever experienced. I can only imagine how pissed I would be if I had these issues...
SO..........Fun fact......Sideways related.
If you have the nav running in the left pane while you have ADAS running.....THEN switch off ADAS, it will automagically convert the left pane back to whatever is on the stereo.
I'll take just having it go back to whatever was last selected (I watch...
My cash is on a change in alignment due to the removal/replacement of half-shafts.
Gotta love the unintended consequences of a "customer service campaign", right :D
ElectraFi does something similar......although doesn't account for elevation.
Mine looks like this......
Density is relatively linear with altitude. Should be able to scale linearly if you really wanted to. It will only vary by a small percentage as compared to velocity. It's also susceptible...
Glad I'm not the only one.
Since I back into the garage, I don't have a choice but to pull out, so the same direction thing won't work for me.
Mine is loud enough it's woken my wife up several times now. It's nearly as loud as a gun going off, and our bedroom is directly above the garage, so...
I've had it before, but never as severe as this. It's almost as if the pads are welding themselves to the rotors. It's absurdly aggressive.
Do they make ceramic pads for these things?
