Truck has been having ANOTHER issue lately. I thought it was water in the rear calipers freezing, but it's been above freezing for 2 days now and it's still doing it. It sounds like the rear pads are rusting to the rotors. Something is "clunking" VERY loudly the very first time I move the truck...
This bias has been steeped in the truck segment for decades before it was ICEV vs BEV.
Look at the Nissan Titan as an example. It was, for all intents and purposes, the value leader in the segment. You got more features, better capability, and good reliability for thousands less than a...
Western NY (Buffalo) checking in. Never had to wait more than a week. I think once I was scheduled for a visit like 4 weeks out, but they called the next day and moved the appointment up to the next day.
In general dealing with service has been, quite possibly, the best part about ownership. I...
Same. Oldest rides a 150cm board. I ride a 162cm board. They both fit. Mine just barely.
Boots go in there with the boards. Wet/cold gear goes in the frunk.
@Plummer43 Set the temp to 72degF on the drive home. Yesterday. Everything in full "auto" mode. Ambient temps were around 18degF.
HOLY SHITBALLS it was hot. I literally drove home with 2 windows cracked to let fresh air in. Stripped my fleece off at a stoplight and drove the rest of the way in...
The door handle thing is a safety concern, I couldn't care less about the convenience (or lack thereof with them). There is no amount of discussion that will lead me to a conclusion where electronic door releases from the interior are a good idea. I never used child locks for the same reason...
I'll give it a try next time it happens.
I'm pretty cold natured in general, so that feels very warm to me, but I'll give it a try. Last 3 vehicles with "auto" settings on climate I would keep in the 67-69 range and be pretty comfy.
Well, it did it again yesterday.
Pretty convinced it's a software bug when driving at speed and below 20degF. Was headed to go snowboarding yesterday afternoon. Have a relatively short stint on an expressway. About 3-5min after setting the cruise to 70, the truck starts blowing cold air. I...
Honestly, when my lease is up, I'm strongly considering finding another G1 to buy. I think I got a lemon, but really like the brand and product. Those two features are at the top of the list for why.
Personal opinion here......but buying something only to protect the value that you can sell it for later isn't realistic.
I'll say it louder for those in the back. VEHICLES ARE NOT INVESTMENTS, stop acting like you're "protecting value", it's the same flawed premise as buying something on sale...
If it is, I'm selling my Rivian.
If others can have outlandish takes of not buying because it's not included, then I'm going to take the stance that I'll sell if it is included. Same energy right?

I didn't want that before, but I kind of do now.
Glad to see something new coming to the drivers display. The vehicle view was just this side of pointless.
Would REALLY REALLY like some additional metrics on the drivers display. Battery and motor temp, elevation, maybe make those green bars...
@MountainBikeDude Thanks for the reccomendation. I just bought a couple bottles on Amazon, we'll see how it goes.
Snow out here in Buffalo is pretty inconsistent. Depending on temps and if the wind is coming off the lake or not can change it from "wet and heavy" to "Light and pellety". We'll...
@MountainBikeDude @54North @SolartoEV
Drive home, then another 80-ish miles to/from a company event all went off without a hitch. Truck ran the heat just as it was supposed to. Kept the windows clear, and acting like a "normal" HVAC system should.
I set the temp to 68deg, hit the Auto button...
