Only happens while driving. Sitting resolves the issue it appears.
I agree. Feels like a sensor/software issue as the truck is clearly making heat when it wants to. For some reason it decides to not to any longer and I'm stuck until it sits for a minute.
Any idea how to pull data from the...
I'll try this on the way home this afternoon.
Ran out to lunch. Preheated from the office, truck was warm when I got there. Lunch spot with clients was only a few blocks away. Stayed warm that whole drive. Got inside and about half way through lunch I reheated the truck and put it on "2hr...
Same thing.
That's how I had it this morning on the way in. Drove fine for3-5miles then started blowing cold air.
Is it possible that something is "freezing up" as I'm driving through the bitter cold air? Doesn't make a ton of sense to me, assuming there is antifreeze in the cooling/heating...
Can confirm. Rear motor stays engaged while towing.
Not sure if it's a stability thing, or a tire wear thing, or a rear clutch disconnect protection thing. I'm guessing it's to protect the rear drive clutch under heavy load, but that's just a guess on my part.
I see what you did there :D Love it!
This was sitting in the parking lot after driving in. Ambient temps were below 15 in both pictures.
Auto set to OFF. All vents OFF except the two driver side dash vents. Recirc ON. Sync ON. Rear vents (floor and console OFF). Fan set to HIGH (7). Temp set...
SO, weather has finally turned cold for us here in Buffalo. It was 7deg when I left the house this morning, 9deg yesterday morning. Was a balmy 25deg when I left the ski slopes Sunday afternoon.
The truck has decided that I don't need heat while driving. No idea what I've done, or if it's a...
Same.....I have been cross shopping all kinds of things for months now. It's really hard to find a "good" competitor to the truck.
I've had exceptionally great customer service.......each of the 11 times it's been in the shop for the first 14mo of ownership.
When it's good, it's great. When...
I've been driving in "snow mode" for about 9 months now. The impact to range is pretty minimal as best I can tell. Might be a couple tenths of mi/kWh, but not enough to make the difference of more than a few miles. Even on long legs of a road trip.
Gen 1 Dual Motor R1T for reference.
Couple notes above, don't completely agree with the analysis there. I tried to make them red for clarity but formatting doesn't seem to want to stick.
SO.......what makes Rivian better.
Versatility - I can rock crawl in the morning, then canyon carve back to the hotel, then road trip home...
So, there's my point. You carry something as a backup due to trust issues. Except the Rivian makes you carry two things, and those two things only grant permission to unlock not a means to actually physically unlock.
Hell, my wifes Nissan Rogue has a fob with a built in key. battery dies in the...
When, for any vehicle, have you not trusted the primary method of permission to acces so badly that you carry a spare around at all times?
I feel that speaks volumes in itself. You trust it so much that you carry a secondary form of permission (not access).
Also, PaaK doesn't work for me on a...
Mine is always this way. I use the fob exclusively. If the truck is asleep I just plan on it not working. Often times I stand around tapping the truck with the fob after repeatedly pressing the unlock button. Even the key card is slow to react if the truck happens to be asleep.
Rivian physical...
Interestingly enough. I just did a 1k mile road trip over Turkey Day weekend. Didn't hear or notice it once. Also had the 12V replaced (for the 3rd time in 14mo) about 2 weeks prior.
Wonder if the actuator on the drive unit runs off the 12V system?
Also, had the "ting washers" replaced on all...
