I think this is the cleanest and easiest. Also the most vehicle agnostic so when you tow with something else it works there too.

The loaner I just had was "a little rattly", but nothing like my daily driver. It's seriously loud and different enough that I've had guests ask if "everything is OK in the front end" on the truck. Super agitating at this, otherwise very high, level of vehicle.

Thanks for the quick info. This is what I suspected. Wife's Nissan had a flat awhile back and the AWD system threw an almost instant fit and forced her to pull over with the factory space saver. So I'm a little gunshy.
