I'm on a Pixel 5 and debating an upgrade.
PaaK was working pretty well for me until we moved to a new house. I had proximity lock OFF at the old house because the truck was in the garage and I didn't care if it was unlocked all night. New house truck is in the driveway and I want proximity...
I have wondered several times if it's an "fluid hammer" sort of condition from the hydraulic lines not being bled well, then "chattering" when the load reverses within the line. Similar to what you get in a house that has long runs from the water heater to the faucet and you shut it off...
Are you in a 1st gen or 2nd gen truck?
I've been debating on moving to a newer PIixel anyway (I'm on a P5), and this would be a nice additional perk.
I currently don't use my phone for anything other than app access because PaaK is so awful. Fob only (which still isn't great).
Two things from where I sit. This opinion and a couple bucks will get you a cup of coffee, so take it for what it's worth.
I'll never own a second gen or beyond Rivian unless they bring back the internal, mechanical door releases. Period. It's a step too far into the "electrification of...
For those that have watched it. Is this a "podcastable" video, or do I need the visual details to get the content?!?!
Would like to stream on the way to/from the office, but can't watch youtube while driving.
It'll be electronically deployed and have a memory setting that never works right, so you'll still long for the "old days" of static cupholders that were just OK anyway.
Same. Wife, 14 and 7yr old boys, and a 50lb lab mix.
We can barely make it 2hrs without stopping and/or someone losing their temper. We love each other, but that's a LOT of togetherness.
On a 9hr trip you have time alotted on either end of the travel to "do the stuff"?!?! You're not getting that 90min of extra sleep in the morning anyway, or your stuff to do is in the night time.
While we might not sit in the hotel room, we certainly aren't planning any excursions or important...
Most of them are near gas stations. We've grown to be fans of Sheetz because of charging stops.
Most are also sub 30min total time. It takes that long to get a wife, 2 boys and a dog into/out of the truck and get a bathroom break/snack for all. I mean, unless I treat it like I'm a drill...
Same. I do Buffalo<->Louisville quite often. Usually around Thanksgiving, and then again around Easter. Drove home in '24 through a lake effect event with frigid temps. I made an extra 15min stop in Erie that I don't make in the summer. Mines rated at 305 with the AT's, and I can easily get 250...
100% this. It's literally as easy as put in destination and follow directions.
The initial setup can be a bit intimidating, but honestly, once plug and charge came along with 2-3 different networks, it's not significantly complicated to just show up, plug in, charge, and move along.
There is...
I have 305mi "normal" range and live in Buffalo. Even with winter road trips I've yet to find it to be a problem.
Only time I've ever wanted more range was when I'm towing. I've avoided a few trips I would have taken if I had an ICE powered tow vehicle.
When my lease is up (or hopefully totalled before then), I think I'm going back to Audi. I'm an engineer, and I think the Germans and I are on a closer wavelength than the Silicon Valley crew.
I won't have dash vents adjusted through a screen again.
I won't have PaaK again. Physical...
Would love to test some other vehicles and phones. Let me know when you're around and we'll do a thing.
I would REALLY REALLY like to have someone else drive my truck and tell me if the front suspension is "normal" or not.
I have offices in Tonawanda and Silver Creek. Live in Orchard Park...
Rivian has seen the issue, tested the issue, and tells me "everything is working normally". Either Rivian is lying to me and it's NOT supposed to work this way, or it's an asinine system. I'm not certain, but it's awful.
Just today at lunch I stood with my hands full at the door waiting for it...
Works with any of the exterior buttons.
I use the gear tunnel door button quite often. Usually when standing in the rain and PaaK, Fob, and Card have all failed. Likely because it's raining and the Rivian access system is awful.
OK, lets reset.
$700/yr for oil changes is reasonable if you drive more than average, and you have a similarly priced/optioned/class ICEV to the R1T/R1S. Someone said it wasn't reasonable, and I responded that I think it is. We disagree.
$700/yr for battery changes is not reasonable, and...
