Agreed. From what I’ve read the EV charging network outside of Tesla is a joke. I don’t know from first hand experience but that’s been the common sentiment from what I’ve seen. Blaming it on rivian seems a little short sided but understand if you’re coming from a Tesla owner point of view. You...
Congrats! Seeing people around me make me hopeful that I'll get mine s00n. I'm in Allen and I saw someone on Reddit from Collin County as well say they had a delivery scheduled too and reserved only a month before me.
Glad to see I'll be able to use something other than Spotify so that's a step in the right direction.
One interesting tidbit was this:
“Rivian shares a very similar philosophy to say they wanted to have a live audio experience in the vehicle that reflected the design sensibility and the...
I won't rehash what I've been saying for over a year in various places, but yes it would be nice if Rivian would get their head out of their asses and support CarPlay. Those who don't want it, cool you're not being forced to. But those who want CP/AA are not the minority. Apple claims 98% of new...
I literally put an R1S reservation in yesterday. Was feeling bummed about the March 1st price increase on it but it’s worth it. Now I’m really happy we pulled the trigger.
I made my R1S reservation yesterday, but it looks like they changed the setup so that you no longer build it and then pay for the reservation. Looks like I made my reservation just in time.
Updated with email from Rivian confirming this:
Reading it, it sounds like you did it with cash and not debt, so you're already ahead of tons of people. Now if you went 30K into debt to keep throwing money at RIVN that's a different story, but I'm not seeing an idiot from what I'm gathering, just someone who is okay with paying market price...
Yeah I hope Rivian does something similar, I would love to be able to natively listen to Apple Music either in the UI or over USB. I just don't want to be forced to use bluetooth.
Okay I see my misunderstanding, I was under the impression that this device they developed was simulating the phone's bluetooth and able to trick the vehicle into thinking it was present. But as you said, it's simply just relaying it which has been a thing for quite some time. So as long as...
Seems to be entirely centered around BLE:

In case anyone hasn't seen it, there's also a security issue with using a bluetooth phone as a key:
https://jalopnik.com/researchers-break-into-a-tesla-and-drive-away-using-blu-1848938417
TL;DR BLE wasn't intended to be used this way, so the car can easily be tricked into using a phone that...
Yeah for $110 I’d expect it to be injection molded. Not sure I’m willing to pay that much for a 3d printed product.
Wonder if they have the ability to just pay for the stl file so we can print it ourselves
CS also said OC wasn’t delayed until the day it was announced that it was. Not knocking on CS as they’re only saying what they’re told, but they don’t know much more than we do most of the time it seems.
Exactly, all other communications went out without issue. They've sent emails to everyone almost weekly now for a while and not a single one has ended up with a poll to see if someone got it.
